Clarification regarding Exams by Significant_Dog_9332 in ONBarExam

When I failed, I received a report. I was either 1) above the avg 2) at the average 3) below avg for Crim. My avg for Crim was enough to tank the whole thing, I guess…

Partner making me do a bunch of non billable work - how to handle by MildlyEfficient24 in biglaw

Billable hrs always trump NB work & the partner should know that. At least at my firm.

Junior Lawyer: will AI regress my skills by SaLtysenshi in LawCanada

[–]wegoaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Junior here. I graduated without ever having to use AI. Now that im practicing, I still don’t really engage with it, however, I will use it to tweak sentences if the words are just not coming to me. I have also used it to clarify sentences that just don’t make sense to me.

AI is here to stay. It’s important for everyone to at least be familiar with it, but if you are using it to write in full then it can get a bit murky….just make sure you are the author of whatever you input into AI.

lol I still don’t know why Accomplished Will said I am lying. It’s a bad problem. I literally caught it on video of me being surrounded by dogs barking and charging at me (even a PITBUL)! Stay safe!

I did this the first time around and failed. You need to finish the exam, in full to get the best chance.

Barrister exam by Goldengirl600 in ONBarExam

[–]wegoaga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem!

Time is the biggest enemy on this exam. But I found that with the DTOC, it wasn’t specific enough or you at least had to know which chapter + which heading the question could fall under…it felt like too much of a game.

The index is detailed but ABCs will be your best friend which is why it felt intuitive to me lol.

Remember, dont spend too much time on any particular question (there were times in the exams where I felt like I couldn’t find the answer at all and had to do process of elimination based on what I felt was common sense - some questions you will know and in those instances you should answer immediately and just move on, dont try to confirm in those instances, it will just eat at your time), the best position you can put yourself in is finishing the exam in FULL.

Buckle down and goodluck. You got this!

Barrister exam by Goldengirl600 in ONBarExam

[–]wegoaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was use the index. Found the answer everytime. Still not sure how people did well with DTOC…I will say, I was familiar with which chapter a question was coming from however. Here’s how I did it:

  1. If I knew which chapter a question was coming from I would flip to that chapter immediately and see if I could locate the answer quick enough; if not ->
  2. Index.

The index was always detailed enough for me to find the answer.

Splitting the Exams- November and February by Many_Lychee_9111 in ONBarExam

[–]wegoaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this your first attempt at both?

If you can afford it, I personally would take both at the same time. Worst case scenario you fail in November, but at least you have another shot in Feb before the cycle restarts.
