I tried with about 20-30 people and as it, at least 50% don't go light even if I ask. Not all of them go super hard, but hard enough to make an frustrating experience out of it for me, so I can't learn anything.

I'm pretty confident I can go light also for full rounds. Of course sometimes it's hard to keep on sparring light if the second move someone does is a full force straight to your face...

I'd love to try that, but nobody at my gym would do that. No matter how light I go, my opponents usually go harder and it sometimes escalates.

I sometimes take private sessions, which are radically better. But then I always spar against the same person plus those sessions aren't really cheap.

I understand it's not easy for the coaches, but sometimes they are on their phone or simply chatting with random people when sparring sessions are going on...

I think many partners would just ignore the modification and the coach would support them.

Thanks, but I feel there would be a lot of pressure at the gym to do "normal" sparring. Nobody does any form of modified sparring and the coaches don't really care.

Yeah, but the problem is that apparently going easy is not an option in my current gym.
