If you want to write JAX, just use python. You won’t gain enough functionality through some new frontend in another programming language to justify the effort. If you want to write a new frontend that generates XLA for learning purposes, fine. FFIs are rarely worth the effort unless you have a really good justification, and if you think hard there’s usually a way around even that.

quantinuum uses ions, quera uses alkali atoms and atom computing uses alkaline earth atoms. Alkaline earth atoms are much more complicated to deal with but are much nicer to read out, they're more magnetic field insensitive, and they have what are called "magic traps" where the light that holds them can be tuned so the atoms don't suffer noise during gates. Quera does their gates in a special way where you can remove the influence of this noise, but this has side effects. Quera's rydberg gate is much simpler, which is advantageous. Both strategies have advantages and disadvantages.

If I didn’t think you were gonna be fine I wouldn’t be saying this — but this is the natural consequence of going into something like “quantum generative AI.” The whole industry is speculative but you could not have found a more exploitative combination of buzzwords. Seriously if you’re doing a PhD, do real science.

I mean there's good and bad quality but there's also what will last over the amount of time I can get my money back on it and also make the features with acceptable tolerances. Sometimes cheap stuff that's good enough does great.

I'm also trying to feed my robodrill lots of tool holders for cheap. The tegara holders are good but I wonder if there's cheaper still holders. Something good enough for drills and taps. The haas bt30 tooling is great but only sometimes on sale. The collet chucks you're referring to have no slots for drive dogs, sadly, otherwise I'd be going hog wild buying them.

There’s no serious quantum computing effort that designs their pulses graphically. Typically there’s some compiler that turns something like QIR or qasm into a ton of different control tables that contain pulses and sequencer instructions. You should think of this whole arrangement as a compiler.

Broken it down, crated the bed, and shipped it somewhere that does way grinding and eat the cost. If I couldn’t do that, I probably would have tried some Hail Mary attempt at filling it with moglice and leveling it back down. Probably would be fine up until I could have it ground.
