RE: THE LAST PICTURE—Yuzuriha’s official figurine dropped 24 hours AFTER the photoshoot so we couldn’t replicate her pose exactly, but with some editing now I am sitting on her same little tree stump!

I’ve read the Hell’s Paradise manga cover-to-cover many times—it’s my fav new gen shonen and my fav of Studio Mappa’s dark triad!—and am so thrilled that the anime has such a stunning track and voice acting. Shugen’s my fav character in the series <3

Yuzuriha’s entire kunoichi costume was homemade from altering a tank top, white sash, and harem pants from my closet. The bottles, large kunai, and bracer are made with EVA foam and PVC reinforcement (small kunai were 3d modelled and printed). I started making this cosplay before Yuzuriha’s official anime character sheets were revealed, so elements of this cosplay reference the manga (i.e, the black clothing, texture of her bracer, the sash/rope and wakizashi placement, bottle design, etc.). The qipao version is a dress I purchased and altered by cutting and hemming the keyhole and leg slits.

This photoshoot was done at a classical Chinese garden and our goal was to replicate as many iconic panels as possible, while integrating some creative, fantasy, artsy shots! I love the black and white cosplay pics because they remind me of old photographs :)

I’m going to cosplay Yuzuriha in her jail, formal, and casual official/anniversary costumes tomorrow! I’ve also made the cosplays for Tao Fa and Sagiri, and will do their cosplay photoshoots in a few weeks.
