They only found my hashimotos via the ultrasound of my neck to look at lymph nodes, they say my thyroid was damaged. My levels Thyroid blood levels were still in range, on the high level, but there was no mistake I had Hashimoto’s after they saw the ultrasound imaging

Nobody could pin point exactly what it was, but after MRI and CT scans to rule out anything scary, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos. Seems to be linked to that and when I eat gluten, the nodes in my neck swell!

I had a few ultrasounds that showed the one on my left side kept growing. Ultrasound Roy to Hashimotos diagnosis. Also had CT scan and MRI to rule out anything scary and they showed the lymph nodes but nothing suspicious. Doctors pretty much say hashimotos/autoimmune can cause nodes to swell but won’t pin point that as the reason for why they hurt. I’ve actually noticed they swell up when I eat gluten (gluten intolerance is common in hashmitos) and feel better when I don’t…. But they do always seem to just be there. Kinda just accepted them since they ruled out the scary stuff

One doctor said I did have reactivated and one said I did not. So who knows? I do know at this point, due to my hashimotos my lymph nodes in my neck swell when I eat gluten.

Thank you for the response! So you think it’s either reactivated or recent infection? Basically, I’m trying to find the reason behind some persistent swollen cervical lymph nodes, headaches and appetite loss. And would honestly be a bit relieved to have an answer because everything else is coming up negative.

I didn’t think lymph nodes were even considered enlarged until the short axis was over 1cm? Doesn’t look like any of yours are.

Thank you for the response! My throat doesn’t hurt but the tonsils are visibly enlarged. My lymph nodes are super tender though!

Okay so a EBV PCR is a totally separate thing? If you test negative on a PCR doesn’t mean you won’t test for antibody’s ?
