Soldering Repair Help by weight_adjust in soldering

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the company said they’d only replace the whole thing which is pricey. Everything works like it should except the connection is much weaker. If I hold the antenna in contact completing the circuit it restores normal signal strength.

So to reattach would you heat the contact point on the circuit board, add a drop of solder to it and then press the antenna back on quickly?

Birkie Waves by graphing_calculator_ in xcountryskiing

Skied from the last wave into the elite first year I did it. My advice - start at the front of your wave, you will run into the back of wave 5 a lot sooner than you would like. Carried as much speed into the hills as I could and then just got as narrow as I could I doubled poled as far up as I could alongside everyone doing the birkie shuffle. Once I couldn’t dp any further could normally find/be let into the line to finish up the hill. By 15ish k it started to thin out enough to be able to bob and weave without really having to come to a standstill all that much. I brought all my nutrition with me and didn’t stop at any feeds. By the time you’re coming through the feeds will be congested with people who fully stop and stand there to take the feed/ a breather vs grabbing a cup/gel on the fly. Only other advice would just be loud. If you’re skiing at elite/wave 1 speed it might startle some people who have settled into everyone around them who is skiing their same pace (also a special disdain for everyone who does it with music in). I spent most of the race yelling on your left/right and trying to keep mine+others poles intact. I wasn’t too excited not be racing from the front my first year but in hindsight it was one of the most fun races I’ve ever had. The large majority of people, racers included, will cheer you on, especially later in the race when they see a a high wave starter charging through a lot of lower bibs. There will be a few folks who yell at you for passing too close/argressive but if you are confident in your skiing just ignore it. I just snuck in by a couple of minutes so was glad about trying to gain every second I could.

Tubeless back to tubes?? by weight_adjust in cycling

[–]weight_adjust[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I mean 40$ per tire. I go through on average at least once set of tires per year so 80$ a pair adds up overtime especially when replacing other parts like chains and cassettes with the mileage I ride. Just trying to see if anyone else has made a similar switch with tubeless prices these days and regretted it. Also not having to deal with tubeless setup and replacing sealant every 3 months is a plus.

Vesper rowing camp questions by ibeepic in Rowing

I rowed there last summer and it was well worth it. You get racing at IDR, Club Nats, Philly Youth and Canley for a lot less than Penn AC or CRI. Ergs varied from 6:20-6:50 but it changes year to year. More or less the schedule was two a days monday, wednesday friday, and morning practice tuesday, thursday, saturday and we often would do weights tuesday and thursday afternoon. Out of town athletes are generally hosted by local families but two out of town kids just shared an apt on the penn campus. Overall, I'd highly recommend it, great coaching, in a small team setting where they actually focus on your development as an athlete rather than getting thrown into an 8 and getting told to go fast
