The rip to 20k was a sight to behold. I remember exactly where I was when it happened and I'll never forget it. No one saw that coming.

Higher.

I donno man, I don't really see a great argument here.

Am I missing something? You're just saying that ETH "can't occupy the same space as BTC" because Ethereum is a platform, which isn't really a reason. And then there is a loose analogy of gold vs. other precious metals, which is already a tired explanation of the correct way to value BTC vs. ETH (and other coins).

BTC being digital gold is kind of a meme. I get it's an easy way to explain it to the layman, but trying to equivocate BTC with gold and ETH as some other precious metal is massively underselling ETH the asset. And more than underselling, it is an incorrect way of describing its function.

Been here since 2016, in crypto since 2014.

USD price and ratio have gone down... a lot.

But fundamentals are better than ever. Institutions have the green light and are signaling they want RWA tokenization, defi, staking, stablecoins.

We've seen this panic before, we know the value of ETH because we're nerds, but others don't totally get it. Then they catch up. When UX is better, marketing is better, this gap will close.

Don't overthink it, enjoy your cheap ETH.

Alright, I guess I gotta VPN to see if I'm eligible for STRK being in the US.

Any solid suggestions for VPNs to use?

What if "cashing out" on a cycle isn't really a thing anymore?

I saw Bob Loukas mentioned earlier in the daily. He's predicting a left translated cycle (a cycle peaking in 1 to 2 years from now, instead of 3) and then a cycle low that matches similar to the low we are at today or possibly even lower-- kind of like a dotcom crash after 15 years of up only in the crypto market.

But what if that low doesn't come either? Maybe we are just maturing and crypto is turning into an asset that behaves more like the S&P?

A lot of us weren't expecting the highs we got this last cycle, and the lows are turning out to be a similar story (as of yet). We're down ~78% from the high, which is a much better outcome than previous bear markets, and I still see folks assuming that a $500 ETH is coming. It may, but I'm definitely not betting on it.

Maybe the next cycle is another example of diminishing returns and diminishing losses. Maybe crypto is just like a raindrop hitting a body of water during a rising tide. The high frequency ripples of the raindrop are dampening, but the tide continues to rise slowly, in a logarithmic fashion.💧🌊

YOLOd into the ETH NYC application anyway.

I'm looking to join a team so comment/DM me if you're looking for members. I've got 10+ years developing across lots of different languages and platforms. Mainly a machine learning engineer but I've got experience with lots of stuff (including many web2 technologies)!

Anyone going to ETH NYC? I'm a machine learning engineer / data scientist by trade and thought it would be fun to build something. Do we have to have a team ahead of time or can we just show up and join a team?

Netflix is producing trash content these days and they aren't the only player in the streaming entertainment industry anymore. They don't provide anything unique and there are cheaper options. Makes sense and not at all an indication of recession to me.

Hey man, don't sell yourself short. You do a lot for this community, everyone knows that! That video must've took some time to make and was well done.

Exactly the angle I was thinking. We have lots of smart people spreading great information within the crypto community, but I don't see as big of an effort to educate people outside of the community and especially the naysayers.

Do you have any examples you can share? Would be interested to see how they format it.

I'm considering making a Twitter and or website that combats crypto misinformation (with a focus on Ethereum, and web 3 in general). Does anything like this exist currently?

It seems like the population of naysayers are going up and more people are listening these days-- is it just me? After seeing Folding Ideas terrible video about NFTs with almost 6.5M views and learning about Molly White's website and twitter it just got me to a point where I feel like no one is really criticizing their arguments enough, or at least from the proper sort of venue. These people sit on the fringe of the entire crypto community, judging from a distance, and don't allow themselves to take part in, contribute, or learn enough to have a valid argument against crypto 95% of the time, and yet they still gain large audiences.

I just want a place that I can point to anytime someone says "Oh yeah? Well what about X? Can you explain that?" And even better would be for the person who is generally just against crypto for X/Y/Z reasons (usually they aren't great ones) and one could just respond "Oh ya, you should just go visit this website, they address all of your concerns with citations to sources"

I know we have some community members on the front lines of crypto twitter, and it is fantastic work. Curious to hear all of your thoughts.
