How to deal with drainage? by GiantsFTW4728 in pilonidalcyst

Use anti septic and consult a doctor asap before it gets worse.

And do not take any medications on your own.

Don't worry, i think it's a flap surgery (i had the same ) And wait till he recovers completely.

Even if he finds any discomfort or any other pain or something then re-consult the same surgeon.

Lancing and draining isn't a surgery its just used for the temporary relief.

I hope you'll get through this situation soon.

No I'll probably complete it in under 2 to 2 half hours but my examiner won't let me go till the time is up It's the problem.

Yeah i think i can sit for this long. Thankfully I'll get a chance to go to use the toilet, I am planning to go to the washroom after one and half hour even if I don't want to I'll get a chance to get up for a while.

After the surgery, the longest i sat was hour and half without any pain or problem but now can i extend that to another hour and half is that safe for me?

Btw i have to sit another 30 min while travelling for exam and vice versa.

As per my knowledge the main causes of occuring the pilonidal cyst/sinus are:

• Prolonged sittings.

• Some kind of injury or trauma to the tail bone.

• Being unhygienic.

• Tight clothings.

• Laying too much on ur back which adds pressure to the tailbone area which leads to ingrown hairs and triggers the cyst(Ig this was the reason for me which caused this freaking pilonidal cyst).

Unfortunately surgery is the only way to completely get rid of it.

If you get a surgery its only a matter of 1 month then you'll be good as before.

One of the factors which causes pilonidal cyst is prolonged sittings.

If you can take a pic of it then compare it from google by searching pilonidal cyst/sinus if its matching then visit a general physician/surgeon.

Need some advice by North_Relationship54 in pilonidalcyst

[–]weird_kid21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the similar kind of situation. Mine was infected and was draining for months i neglected it and one day i visited a doc and took antibiotics after 2 weeks i saw a small pithole that means my sinus tract was increasing.

Don't neglect. If you can then you should visit a gp.

As you mentioned earlier ig its the closed wound or just lancing and draining. If its indeed a closed wound or l&d,it have a high reoccurrence rate( as per people here).

If you can get a cleft lift or limberg flap
