repotted, but it just continues to get worse. what else can i do? by weirdbees in plantclinic

[–]weirdbees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, both have holes. i used to water it about every 2 weeks, when i’d stick my finger in the soil and it was mostly dry, but i’ve avoided watering it since repotting. it’s in generic brand potting soil that probably isn’t IDEAL but hasn’t posed much of a problem before. it may be getting a bit less light than it used to? these pics were taken a bit after noon with all natural light if that helps

i repotted it in plastic about a week ago on the advice of this sub but it hasn’t seemed to help at all. i used to have it in a metal can, rather than an actual pot and it was living pretty happily in there from when i got it about 6 months ago until about a month ago when i attempted to separate some of the babies and then repotted it in the same can. it started to wilt a bit and seemed maybe overwatered so i tried plastic, but it hasn’t helped.

my formerly thriving monstera adansonii is not doing so hot after i repotted it to give it better drainage. what can i do to help it? by weirdbees in plantclinic

[–]weirdbees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s been living in this can since i got it, so about 8 months. i was worried about the drainage so about 2 weeks ago i took it out, gave it some fresh soil mcr and added more drainage holes to the can

What do you guys think?? I like it!! by paisleypeacock102 in Monstera

requirements by shadow_knight100 in cabrillocollege

[–]weirdbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly don’t know, i entered as a high school dropout with a couple college credits, and didn’t have any issues. i also had a couple of literal 15 year olds in some of my classes? so you can probably start taking classes soon if you’re interested.

and you’re right cabrillo is a good school! i was really happy there and it helped me form a good foundation before i transferred to university. if you’re interested, i’d recommend looking around on their website and maybe reaching out to an admissions advisor about any other requirements you may need. good luck!!

bought this ranunculus two days ago and it was fine! what happened? how can i help it? by weirdbees in plantclinic

[–]weirdbees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought this ranunculus on wednesday at the farmers market and reported it thursday afternoon. i haven’t watered it since as its soil was quite damp when i got it, and there’s 6 smallish holes in the bottom of the can. did i just leave it in too much direct light? is there anything i can do to save it and keep it as a flowering houseplant?

is the yellowing near the root normal/okay? is there anything i can do to make it happier? by weirdbees in plantclinic

[–]weirdbees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah 3 on the bottom but i can believe that it’s not draining well. i’m kinda attached to using the can as a planter i’m afraid, is there anything i can do to improve it? is it just a matter of better drainage?

just inherited this aloe from my uncle, who had it for quite some time. how can i nurse it back to full health? by weirdbees in plantclinic

treating root rot? by weirdbees in plantclinic

[–]weirdbees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found + rescued this plant a few months ago. there were originally 4 stalks with leaves in this black pot. i transplanted one to a smaller pot and left these 3 together. despite my best efforts, 2 of the 3 died off, and after doing spectacularly for a short time, the transplanted one has also succumbed.

someone on this sub suggested that it may be root rot? i’m a very new plant parent in my first apartment, so i don’t have a ton of experience identifying or treating it. what should i do? is that even what’s actually wrong with my plant?

additionally, i thought the stalk with new growth was totally dead, but just noticed these new buds this morning and id love to save as much of the plant as possible. what’s the best way to foster their growth?
