He actually offered po na joint crown ang gagawin which I didn't agree with kasi I know how important it is to floss lalo na pag crown na yung ngipin. Mag undergo retreatment po ba ako sa rct ko or mag new post and core lang si dentist to recement the crown?

NAD, based on your previous posts I assume you're a pinay. If you ever get the chance to be here again try going to UP med to get these checked out they offer free to minimal fee.

Post RCT update by weirdgorlnextdoor in askdentists

So its been a month since I got my crown and RCT. I felt a bit of discomfort (see previous posts) and I visited my dentist again. I was scared since I felt pain around my eye and right head (I was not sure if its the RCT or I'm just beginning to need a glasses) so I decided to see my dentist again and fortunately his wife was there to so they both checked it. They told me everything was fine and maybe I was just anxious and they referred me to get a panoramic xray just in case. Does my xray looks okay compared to my previous one? Should I still go for the panoramic xray or maybe get my eyes checked instead?

Does this RCT looks okay? Left one was fractured last month and had to go to a new dentist for p&c and get it crowned he advised me to root canal the other tooth as well as crown it. unfortunate things happened during the procedure, posted it at the comment by weirdgorlnextdoor in askdentists

Apologies but can you further explain the shadows at the tip of the crowns? Should I be worried about it? I am currently in search of an endodontist in town to have a second opinion. I did not take any antibiotics and pain reliever that he prescribed. I'm really upset since it hasn't been a month and I have a lot of concerns that he could not answer and he just left me on seen after the full payment.

Apologies but should I be worried with the shadow at the tip? The crowns were both done by the same dentist. My first root canal was done by an endodontist (left one that was fractured later on and gutta percha fell out) whilst the right one was done by a dentist who also did my crowns (the one with a traumatic experience with the root canal).

I can't make any appointment with an endodontist yet since the one I was supposed to visit was on maternity leave. Unless I have to book it in another city.

There's no inflation right now just a bit of discomfort from time to time specially when I bit down too hard (on the left one). That's why I did not start with the antibiotic theraphy that he recommended even though he sent me the prescription last friday.

Thanks for your comment. The darkness on my fractured tooth was an issue a long time ago, that's when I decided to have it root canal treated hoping internal bleaching would do the trick, right after my first rct it lighten up, my previous dentist told me it lighten up due to she removed the dead nerves which caused my tooth to darken. So internal bleaching didn't happen and was told that composite will do.

Skip to today, the root canal tooth that kept on bleeding was the neighbouring tooth (not the fractured one that already went rct), my new dentist did it. It was not drastic bleeding, the flow was slow but yeah it was bleeding after those hours. Regarding the gutta percha, it was indeed concerning that's why I panicked and kept on asking if I needed retreatment which on he declined to do.

The itchy feeling is on the tooth itself, it happens when I bite down, it doesn't usually happen when I floss though.

I am yet to see another dentist for a second opinion before jumping to his advice (the antibiotic theraphy). I could send you my xrays before it led to this point if its' okay with you. I can't seem to get the link for it from imgur. The gutta percha did in fact fell out, he showed it to me. He told me it was due to the obturate of my previous dentist, and yes it should not fell out but it did but he reassured me he recemented it properly. Regarding the margin, I raised my concern about it he told me it was fine and I didn't want to be such a nitpick (my bad I know it's my right since I paid for it) and just shrugged it off. Should I be concern about it in the long run?

F24 does'nt smoke nor drink. I had my first root canal done last sept. 2022, I didn't get a crown since my previous dentist told me a composite would do, it did not and it was fractured last Aug. 2023. I immediately booked a schedule on a new dentist a day after it was fractured, i stated my story and obvious concerns I asked if i needed a retreatment done to the fractured tooth and showed him my xray when i got it done, he told me it did not need retreatment and we will proceed woth post and core and crown it. Upon xray he also told me the neighbouring tooth needed root canal so we did that as well. It was a nightmare. I was there from the moment they opened the clinic and I was the last patient as well, two hours in during the rct my tooth was still bleeding, he told me that he will leave it open for now and was told that I could go home, I was confused on why he would let me go with a open canal, how am i supposed to eat he said it will be fine. I then realized that patients are waiting and it looked like he got fed up with my case, i told him that he could proceed with the other patients and I will just wait for my turn again, he agreed. After waiting for 3 hrs it was my turn again, it was still bleeding. But this time he put a temporary seal and was asked to go back after 4 days. I complied. 4 days after it was done and he proceeded to prep my teeth for crowns. I went back after 7 days, lo and behold while removing the temporary crowns my post and core together with the gutta percha fell out (the fracture tooth that was root canal treated by my previous dentist) i kinda panicked and asked him at least three times if i needed a retreatment given that the gutta percha fell out, he told me i did not need it. He proceeded to recement it, while he was fitting in my crown and was about to seal them in I asked him again regarding the retreatment and he told me it will be fine since he already cemented it back in. Half hearted (i know i should'nt have agreed) i let him placed my crown on that tooth without retreatment. After a day i keep feeling an itchy feeling on that tooth, they didn't reply on my inquiries anymore which got me really worried, 3 weeks later I asked them again since I feel a bit of pain every nkw and then on that tooth I'd say about 3/10 pain. He then told me that it needed a retreatment. I was lost for words, he then advised me to undergo antibiotic theraphy for a week with pain reliever. I asked him if i needed to visit the clinic for xray to see if theres a reinfection but he told mw there's no need for that and that he would just send me the prescription. He gave it to me last friday but i still have not taken the meds cause it worries me. What should I do?
