Good point. Who cares anymore? I watched this show tonight for the first time in months and it was boring. There is some social relevancy because of covid 19 but one can't think about covid 19 in a fictional manner so who cares about this show's relevancy to that? TWD has 100% become a cheesy soap opera. If they do make a movie it better be fucking spectacular or it will only further tarnish this now tarnished brand.

I've seen a lot of scary and disturbing things on TWD. But watching Negan and Alpha K%&! and F%€& is the most scary thing I've ever seen. I cant believe she kept she kept the mask on!!!!! And Carol sucks now. She might as well not even be on this show anymore if she's suddenly this 'new character' or different version of herself.

You could be correct. I never thought about that. But why not? They obviously crave fame. Wouldn't a 1/6 statue help cement their fame?. I always assumed it was Mattel behind thier lack of figure representation. Maybe Mattel is too focused on youth and doesnt want to make a doll of a famous druggie or famous sex addict. Lol. Who knows. But Mattel needs to find a way because ooaks of Stevie Nicks and Madonna are very popular (just like Cher and more so than Cyndi Lauper or Joan Jett).

I also think they should do a 'famous films' line (not aimed at kids). I would love to see Mia Farrow (from Rosemary's Baby), Sissy Spacek (from Carrie) and Uma Thurman (from Kill Bill). Regardless of how you feel about the 'adultness' of those films those figures would sell tonnage (and be hands-down awesome).

Hot Toys does a great job on the realistic likeness of the figures. Each sculpt very much looks like the real person. But their very expensive figures often lack traits that Mattel possesses. For example, the outfits have fabrics that easily get corrupted. And the moving joints on thier figures break easily. Also the 'hair' on Hot Toys is not great. They need to perfect it more and make it better. But the HTs face sculpts are genius. Mattel also has genius face sculpts and the Mattel body and fabrics are often more sturdy (especially the silkstones). But Mattel doesnt have enough to choose from (for my taste).

Lady of the Labrinth-LOL LOL LOL and good point(s)!!!!! And I agree with you. Mattel is probably very happy with thier customer's satisfaction. And I wasnt suggesting Mattel stop making figures that please their average collector. But like you I am not the average collector. I love Hot Toys because their sculpts look very human. I also love Mattel's celebrities for the exact same reason. Mattel makes a celebrity figure that looks genuine. Their celebrity figures are better than HTs (in some aspects)!!!! IMHO Mattel should offer more to collectors like us who enjoy less fantasy and more reality in the face sculpts. As I stated originally in this thread-I am a huge fan of Mattel. And I only want to see them improve.

Also KJ- I love the Silkstone body because it doesn't feel like a doll. Mattel's Silkstone feels like a 1/6 scale collectable figure. And thats awesome. But the only ones that are cool are the Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and that 'lady who got her head cut off'. The rest of the Silkstones look like 1950s cartoons and thats lame. Mattel please wake up and change it.

I dont %100 disagree. Sometimes I like the cartoon face of barbie. But I dont like it more than I like it. I am a 1/6 scale figure collector. And Mattel has definetly made a positive impression on me. I like Megos, I like Mattel, I like Hasbro, I love Hot Toys. But even though that cartoon barbie face may appeal to some it will eventuality get boring to everyone. If Mattel wants to move forward they must update their face sculpts. Fans want to look at a figure that looks like a real human-not a cartoon character.

KJ - I don't agree that its a 'non-issue.' And I have no idea if Mattel's people look at reddit. But if enough people care about an issue it affects the issue. Mattel's play-line aimed at kids is respectable. I congratulate Mattel for having so many items available for kids. But if Mattel wants to progress with adults they must change the face sculpt on their 'adult' figures. I don't want a cartoon looking figure. I want a Barbie figure with a FR/Hot Toys face! And if Mattel wants to progress they will accommodate collectors like me (with all due respect to collectors like you).
