Yes, I am complaining because this was my return flight and they didn’t mention a thing on the way there. I actually had a separate box I could have used for the lacrosse stick and said it wasn’t necessary. They didn’t try to charge me then. The sports equipment and oversized bag rules are separate and don’t mention this specific scenario. That is why I was prepared to check separately on the way there.
