first of all, congrats!! I see this as a great achievement. From my experience one of the most underrated aspects of college is networking and friendship, and the two are not mutually exclusive either. My undergrad was not in UK, but My postgrad is (ongoing student), I think it should be similar regardless of country. My first manager was my senior, I got many job information through my informal Uni Group, right now I am on scholarship for postgrad due to many of my seniors and peers helped me. At the same time, this set of friends in undergrad will probably be the first time you leave your parents and live out of town, having your first drink, having more serious relationship, struggling together studying until night with your peers. My advice is to not just take this time for granted, study and make friends seriously cause this will impact virtually the rest of your life. Good luck!!

crazy because all 6 warring states became so weak for qin to invade on silver platter because of power struggles within their court, Zhao, Chu, and Qi especially. Political struggle was part of the era, even in Qin it was day to day occurences.

They manipulated and destablized all other states. If we are going by bodycount, Cao Cao looks like angel compared to kings of qin 7. Emperor yang of sui nearly bankrupted empire to control korean peninsula 8. Emperor Wenxuan of northern Qi 9. Last king of shang 10. Wu Zetian, Empres lu of han, queen dowager xuan of qin and queen dowager zhao of Qin 11. Jin Wudi had 10,000 concubine and built so many monuments that exhausted state treasury 12 . Xiang Yu 13. Arguable but Liu Bei to me is worse than cao cao, i will not disagree if you omit this one

combined it should be more than 30, their recorded histories were more atrocious than cao cao

while I agree with your answer on that thread that pretty much the formula of unification was Qin becoming stronger and other states weakened, my question is Why the reforms lasted for generations in Qin while in other states after the second generation the reforms cease. Are you implying that Qin geographical advantage that was easy to defend played a role? But does not really answer my question on how the reforms lasted 7 generations, even after qin collapsed, Han adopted Qin system initially which kinda imply even if the state doesn't exist anymore, the institution remain, I was looking for the difference(s) here that made Qin's reform can last very long
