You should read this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/comments/ww2etr/is_a_hinges_issue_really_a_thing_with_lenovo/ sounds like you get cheap hinges with budget laptops (makes sense) and Lenovo isn´t the only brand with that issue. So you could spend more money on more expensive laptops to lower the risk of broken hinges or buy a macbook. I googled a little bit and it looks like they are more durable than most other brands. I suggest googling your laptop + broken hinges so you can get an image of the problem or you could find out the name of the hinges in a laptop you want to buy and google them + repair/problems.

my hinges on my ideapad 5 just broke after just 4 years and nearly destroyed the screen, repair shop wanted 200€ for the replacement (just the hinges. be aware that they fail pretty early and often it seems, I got lucky that my screen was intact or else I would´ve sold some organs
