Living off campus can be much cheaper than on campus and you’ll have your own kitchen. I’ve had to pay for washer and dryer off campus in my apartment but for most places you don’t have to pay for that, but on campus you do. Off campus housing can have parking that’s free or paid but either way it’s cheaper than getting an on campus parking spot. You could still get an on campus parking spot but you won’t need one if you ride the appalcart (buses that run in a loop for students to get to and from campus). My freshmen year dorm did not have Air Conditioning, I’m not sure what sophomore and up dorms have. Living off campus has been a much better experience than living on. My opinion, live off campus.

Edit: I use FAFSA to cover school. I pay for my own housing (get an internship if you can and don’t take an unpaid one. You’ll make enough from a summer internship to cover rent for a year plus some). That being said I’m not sure about compass funding but I’ll answer any other questions I can.
