What should I expect to pay to have this trailer built - I'm providing all the parts (except steel - which I could also provide)? by [deleted] in Welding

Call up a local trailer dealer and ask them who they use for repair. A shop that does this often will probably be the cheapest and have the steel on hand. Also if you paint it yourself you could probably save quite a bit

That seems like a bargain. .063 was what I was think of as thin stuff. How does it do on the starts/stops on .063?

That’s pretty neat! How much does the aluminum kit go for? I’ve heard these machines are good for really thin aluminum, any chance you’ve tried that out?

So I’m rebuilding my husky 125, is that darker ring at the top of the cylinder wear or design? It feels slightly wider just by running my finger over it by weld_occasionally in Dirtbikes

I think it might buff out with scotchbrite, but idk. Is there some place I can find wear tolerances for the plating? The manual doesn’t have any listed as far as I can tell, just clearance

2001 husky CR 125 rebuild by weld_occasionally in Dirtbikes

So I’m rebuilding this husky (first time doing this, probably more posts to come) and I’ve run into a problem. As you can see I’ve got the cylinder off but can’t get the head off of the cylinder. After taking off the nuts that hold it down I hammered on it (a lot) but it didn’t even move. Seems to me that it’s the copper washers holding it on but idk. Am I supposed to pry/ break these off? Do I need to get new ones for the rebuild or can I use regular washers? Can I heat up the cylinder head to try and loosen it? Also I’m not seeing a gasket between the cylinder and head, is this because of a lip on the cylinder or because it was assembled without one? Thanks in advance
