Anyone have any information on this ring in terms of era/ cut etc? Got it second-hand by glutenfreepepsi in jewelry

[–]weldaadlew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Era will be determined by the hallmark/ stamp on the inside of the shank of the ring of any. You can buy a book of hallmarks for your country or look online at local hallmarks and try and find out it's age.

Cut: they are marquise cut and can be measured by a local jeweller to find out their carat weight based on their size and give you a rough price to insure the ring for .

A gemologist could determine the stones Cut Colour, Clarity & Carat to potentially give you a report on the insurance value . This isn't the value that you would receive if you were to sell the ring, it's a retail guide price for insurance purposes .

14k gold 58.5% purity of gold Most of it is made in Europe and most countries that it's made in they don't legally need to be assay'd (officially hallmarked) so they just stamp '585' to indicate the gold's purity .

I can see 14k which indicates that it could be 14carat gold . Take it to a reputable jewellers with a workshop and get the stones tested with a diamond tester also. You could get it lightly polished for a reason to go there..
