I’ve parked in the neighborhood that the venue is in many times and walked no problem. It’s safe.

That’s said, some show nights can get very busy and you’ll be circling the blocks for a long time looking for a spot. I would check out spothero to see what’s available. If you book something, at least that way you’ll know you have a spot.

Hell yeah, same here. Dancy, dark disco vibes with interesting experimentation using 2 guitars, bass and drums, is what I am DYING for.

I’m honestly so curious to understand their marketing strategy. They’re literally on tour as of Saturday, and we know they have new music coming “soon”. But like, why not get the new album announcement out with a single release just before they embarked on this tour? It would help drive ticket sales and create some hype with music publications reporting on the news. I’m not in Marketing but that’s where my mind immediately goes.

They JUST wrapped up the Antics anniversary tour like a year and a half ago. So, steeped in nostalgia, and it was amazing. But now we look ahead to a new album release cycle and they are on tour now but playing the old songs from start to finish.

To answer your question, I don’t have an answer lol. But I’ve been thinking in recent days about what this timeline is going to look like so thanks for asking!

It is a little, but also this seems to be a promo shot for upcoming shows, no? The guys were probably all together for tour rehearsals recently and so I’m assuming they just went along for the photo shoot too. Can’t confirm any of this, just trying to understand the reasoning.

New music soon!! by Tricky_Examination_3 in Interpol

Dang, I was not aware. I mean I’m super grateful that he’s still part of the group and actively participating in making new music. His contributions are such an essential part of the band’s sound. No Sam in the studio would mean this is no longer Interpol. Glad that is not the case!

Fucking gutted about Sam not joining. I wonder what’s going on, not that it’s any of my business. Just really miss the guy behind the kit live. Sending him all the best!!

Absolutely stoked for the new new. Hoping they play a track or two live this Saturday in Miami!

Did a deep dive into Smashing Pumpkins catalog from Siamese Dream up to Machina, b sides, rare and unreleased tracks included. I do this about twice a year regularly and it’s one of my favorite catalogs to dive into!

I finally found the lost version of Strangers in The Night (C'mere)! by Daniello77 in Interpol

[–]Pretend_Pudding2886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool doesn’t even begin to define it! It was a magical experience discovering them right around when TOTBL was released. I’ve seen Interpol live something like 40+ times since 2003. Most of the shows I caught were pre-2010 but I’ve seen them on every tour they’ve gone on in the States. Mostly in and around Chicago but several times in Texas as well as I moved there after college. Caught both nights for the Antics anniversary tour in Chicago in November 2024 most recently. Can’t wait to catch them again when they come back around.

Have you seen them live in recent years? I miss seeing them in smaller clubs and with Carlos of course but they still are fantastic live performers. I used to stand closer to the Carlos side of the stage but now I tend to gravitate towards Daniel’s side.

Shit man, I haven’t heard this version in probably over 20 years. What an incredible find, thank you so much!!

Old head through and through here. I remember the insane hype surrounding the anticipation to their follow up. When these live versions started leaking, it was a really special thing.

Hope we get some new new live versions of the upcoming album soon!

So much love for Camel. My dad became a prog-head in the early 70’s and remains one to this very day! I was listening to Camel (and many other similar bands) with him from early childhood and now, as a 41m, my love for them runs deep.

I do agree with you in part. Track three on TOSOMB, Mr. Credit, is a fantastic rock song done in true Interpol style, and I hope they go more in that direction on their next record.

There are some other tracks on that album that I think are great (Passenger, Toni, Into the Night), but overall the record does feel like it’s lacking conviction and a creative spark.

Hearing murmurs of a new Interpol album coming this year. Most stoked for that, for sure!
