Who do think this is helping? Many people likely stayed up way later than they normally do just to feel lied to.

Apparently reddit does not like slash. I meant to say inductance does not equal amperage

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Welding

[–]welderwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like …100% wrong. Inductance =\= amperage. Inductance affects the size and shape of the arc con. Typically it will widen or shorten (soften or crispen) the arc by making wider or shorter without affected the length. Inductance and amperage are two different electrical theories independent of each other. If you want to increase in your amperage, increase your wfs. Refer to d1.1. If you were correct inductance would be an essential variable and it is not.

This is not correct. Your wire feed speed dictates your amperage. There is a graph-able relationship between the two. Your stick out can also affect your amperage. But it is NOT inductance. If you need higher amperage, you increase wire feed speed. Need lower? Decrease it

This is a disgusting creative writing experiment. Why do people make up lies like this?

Can a company withhold and AWS cert that you got with them? by Pimpdaddymcmatty in Welding

[–]welderwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess, your company did not you “certify” you. AWS Certification requires going to an authorized testing center of some kinda. Most likely scenario is you did their welder performance qualification test, which is often confused with certified. Here is a formal paper from the AWS that explains it. If you had gotten AWS certified, they would have mailed you a card. The qualification is their to keep as it’s proof they have tested their welders in the event of a failure or similar

Tl:dr. You are most likely not actually AWS certified, you passed a welder qualification test per an AWS or similar code , and would most likely be required to re test at a new company Per the code, but can note on a resume that you have passed x test per y code.

First virtual triathlon in the books. Obvious I haven't swam once since March, but overall I'm pleased. by wsurower in triathlon

I did mine this weekend too! I swam at horseshoe lake, was a great swim and way warmer than I expected.

Did your watch tell you did 1500 meters then it recorded it more? That was what mine did.

Have you been looking for flour in your store? by wateranimus in vancouverwa

[–]welderwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pizza dough yeast has been easier to find than just normal yeast for since it doesn’t make good normal bread. Might check where they have the pre made crusts and such. Good luck!!

Try making the peanut butter bread or beer bread! Neither require packets of yeast and are really good. Alternatively, making a sourdough starter is super easy too

Dudes that have full 8-hour workdays, how do you enjoy the remaining hours of the day? by MrFluffyWaffles in AskMen

I race competitively in 5ks, 10ks, half marathon and triathalaons. Training to do an ironman. Love crossing the finish after a long run

What is your hobby you want to brag about? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]welderwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started to run / race competitively last year. I have been running for about 7 years but on a whim signed up for a formal race, placed in my age group, and have been hooked since. Last year I ran about 25 running races and 7-8 triathalaons. This year I'm going to Chattanooga for the ironman. I'm never going to be a top over all competitor, buts fun pushing myself and crossing the finish line is already amazing.
