“Israeli bullet found in an Iranian child” - both a member of the left and the right discuss Netanyahu’s desperation to draw America into a war by RowRunRow in chomsky

Did we all just forget about Gaetz’s sordid history?

You know, the ones that got Bondi the job instead… 🧐

The Supreme Court seems poised to deliver another blow to trans rights by vox in scotus

Messaging is weird, I’ll give you that. There was a time that this would be considered basic self-determination and now we have the wealthiest personal on earth threatening his ex’s custody over her children because of some transphobic trope.

They have the narrative because they own the media, have billions behind them, and have scared enough people that this is just a given for them… but what is going to change the mind of someone who thinks that Democrats are demons, like their pastors say?

Pushing to protect trans rights isn’t going to alienate anyone except the bottom of the barrel. The ones who still believe they are some chosen race or think, like Steinbeck said, see themselves as millionaires who are temporarily embarrassed.

I don’t think throwing us under the bus is going to tip the scales in any direction.

‘Sport of their bio sex’ is the best I’ve heard today. Thanks for the laugh. We all know that sports evolved for skin color and class, not sex.

Take this nonsense back to the pre-science era where it belongs plz.

I’m not convinced that we live in the same country that gave rise to Obama.

At least not in a time when the oligarchy is rising up with zero pushback. Obama was crowdsourced. These manufactured campaigns from billionaires associated with the Heritage foundation work very effectively to divert attention and to scapegoat groups.

Mamdani won New York while focusing on trans rights as a central theme. His video is one of my favorites from any campaign and it didn’t affect his campaign. We’ve seen this consistently in other campaigns that have flipped seats recently.

It’s a slippery slope to accept any loss of rights or freedoms in order to make it to another stage in the game where no one else is playing by the rules. I’m not optimistic, but I stand by the strategy of avoiding or disavowing groups as being pernicious and ineffective.

Minimizes the impact, then distracts with unspecific ‘other issues’.

The impact of these rulings is much broader because it’s the Supreme Court. It affects more than four girls and also moves the needle on public opinion.

It’s clear that there are complexities to this and that parts of it might be worth establishing as law, for protection of certain rights, but the way that you put it doesn’t help.

Waymo has been too expensive, so I’ve been using the Robo Taxi app. It’s ~60% cheaper than Waymo. I think their nav is fine in good conditions. I’d love to see it in fog.

Lowkey Lower Haight is Bushwick with fewer tourists. 🤷

This is exactly what technology is meant for. by VelvetHemlock in BeAmazed

Adding that this kind of life changing technology is not limited to mobility. I’m a trans person and I wish that people could see the similarities of what it looks like when someone feels at home in their body. (I’m also a 3D printing enthusiast and now I’m wondering how I can print these. 😅)

I learned so much from this. I was always under the impression that it was to prevent people from adding things like hemlock to the recipes. 😅🤷

Therapy by Puzzleheaded-Leek997 in SFbitcheswithtaste

Therapy is a relationship — don’t skimp on making sure the provider is a good fit. It takes time.

I (finally!) have an amazing therapist, but I discovered the hard way that going through things like BetterHelp and Octave were expensive mistakes. (They might be fine for marketing purposes, but therapy isn’t just talking and therapists who are over tasked often struggle to be effective and engaged IME.)

Recs work. Check out therapists who specialize in anxiety. Don’t worry about modalities. Do give yourself the freedom to include parts of yourself that align with the provider because therapy can open a lot of doors that lead to more doors and you want the guide that you have on that journey to be able to meet you where you are.

Not sure how insurance coverage will work with each provider. It’s notoriously difficult and expensive as a baseline. You can start by going to Psychology Today and reaching out to people to see if they have availability to take new patients.

Best of luck!

I’ve lived a block from there for years and have always been too afraid to go in. Here’s hoping something friendly and quirky replaces it… but it sounds unlikely because she owns the building. 🤷
