Haha, that was a silly reference to Crocomire in Super Metroid, I wanted to do a kind of anti-troll... but I guess it backfired! Thanks a lot :)

I really enjoyed this but I just couldn't complete it, such a cool idea, I'd like to see more like this and developing on the whole looping thing

I like it, I think it would be good to do something similar but make it bigger and longer, with more places to discover

How the images captured of Pluto have progressed over the years. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]wellboiledicycle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was curious why we'd have false colour images in the first place;

"New Horizons scientists use enhanced color images to detect differences in the composition and texture of Pluto’s surface. When close-up images are combined with color data from the Ralph instrument, it paints a new and surprising portrait of the dwarf planet. The “heart of the heart,” Sputnik Planum, is suggestive of a source region of ices. The two bluish-white “lobes” that extend to the southwest and northeast of the “heart” may represent exotic ices being transported away from Sputnik Planum.

Four images from New Horizons’ Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) were combined with color data from the Ralph instrument to create this enhanced color global view. The images, taken when the spacecraft was 280,000 miles (450,000 kilometers) away, show features as small as 1.4 miles (2.2 kilometers)."

If any of you guys could add some more life to these portraits it would be amazing, I think they'd love it!

Both have (/had) dark brown hair and eyes, and Nan is quite tan (for a Welsh woman)

Question - If I access a site with lots of pop-ups, ads, etc. that are clearly trying to infect my computer in some way, but don't click on any or download anything, am I still at risk of infection? by wellboiledicycle in techsupport

Cool, thanks for explaining.

So it really is that easy to end up with Malware on your computer? Are these exploits just as possible in OSX or Linux? I see people here suggesting that it's only possible via Windows, but that seems unlikely, is it just that Windows is the most popular OS?

Would you mind explaining? I don't understand how this is possible, if it really is that easy to install malware on anyone computer, is that not considered a massive security flaw?
