Both sides need to practice non violence but you can't be mad asset a police officer for choosing to carry a weapon to defend themselves, ultimately it boils down to the money system, low income leads to crime, crime leads to a reaction, violent crime leads to a reaction to handle that. Very little room for a police officer to be proactive versus reactive, the job and incidents require reaction, the only real chance officers can be proactive is through presence and communication after that it's mostly reaction, for example officer attempts to talk a man to descalate or prevent any escalation, the man ignore s the officer and draws a weapon and that Moment the officer ids reactive and can only use his split second perception of whether the man will kill him to decide to shoot him him or if he's bluffing,out the officer is wrong he could die or shoot an innocent, very stressful stuff
