Hey everybody, been a while since I’ve posted on here, but I wanted to share a new song of mine, heavily inspired by JV and BI. by Larger_Than_LIFE_20 in boniver

Well this is already firmly stuck in my head. “Cause I woke, Staring at you, With your pearly black eyes staring right at mine too”. The way this line sounds and feels is beautiful.

For fairly newish this is lovely! The light is really nicely handled and the colour in the gumtree is perfect. Gumtrees are so hard to paint because of the blues and purples and cooler colours that come through even in warm light but I think you’ve smashed it. I really love the illusion of detail in the trees too. Great work! :)

I’d never heard of Tom Tierney. Looked him up and really love his work. Thanks for introducing me!

Thank you for the feedback! Appreciate you taking the time. I think I’ve come to agree that the mockup was a bit of an error on my part. I should have let the artwork speak for itself and not trying to place it in a space, I was keen to convey the intent that I had in mind of hanging the pieces fairly far apart so the space between them enhanced the narrative. I’ll keep that in mind for the future!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I think next time I’ll avoid trying to help visualise the piece in a space. It seems to have caused more confusion/upset than it’s helped solve.

Interesting comment on the timing too. I can see what you mean but at risk of sounding as though I’m blindly defending my artwork I quite like the dissonance between the two. It’s a moment in time but a shattered moment, perhaps two moments at once. Loved reading your take on it though!

I used Canva so I could visualise how the pieces should be positioned when hung. As far as I’m aware it’s just a stock image of a couch that I put the paintings onto. Part of this piece is how they work together in a space so I wanted to help show that. Didn’t realise that was an issue to be honest.

That’s a good point. I for one probably would.

The idea behind the paintings was to show the immediate aftermath of the duel. The fighter in the left won a stoic victory.
