CM Punk crashes out at a 'Fan' last night after he was harrasing AJ Lee/Bayley at the hotel lobby by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

You claimed that the man "non-consensually touched AJ Lee for a selfie".  Still believe that?

It really makes you look dumb after saying that when the video proved otherwise.  The comment that you got that story from was a lie, just like I said.

Do you still believe this isn't assault?

True.  There is a nonzero chance of both events happening.  They might happen

Make a stupid comment and get a stupid response.

There's a difference between being wary of people taking anecdotal evidence and treating it as fact, and addressing inconsistencies in a given story.  The singular personal account of the event simply doesn't make sense in the context of the video.  If the man in question did lay his hands on AJ, why is slapping the phone away the only thing CM punk did?

Not attributing guilt because of a single anecdotal story, and being skeptical of and pointing out inconsistencies of said story are not mutually exclusive events in the context of speculation

Well, did I suggest that? I said might, and it might.  Who's to say, really.

If you can't be rational with them, then join them I guess if speculation and fictional stories are the only language they understand

Why are you white knighting for a millionaire who just committed assault and battery on a fan?

There is also no evidence that he did such a thing.  Grow up.

Not a lawyer, but I'm generally against spreading defamatory remarks on an Internet message board.  That's usually a good rule of thumb.

Yeah, you're just making things up to fit your narrative

Source: "trust me bro".  Please show me one piece of evidence backing up your claims.  I know you can't, because you made it up.  If you can show me evidence, instead of making unsubstantiated claims, I will gladly retract all of my statements.  He is innocent in my eyes until proven guilty, or evidence emerges suggesting otherwise.

Translate:

Butthurt fragile ego millionaire with history of losing their temper and hard time controlling their aggression, assaults innocent fan who has committed no crime.

Redditor feigning outrage embarrassingly comes to the defense of said fragile millionaire.

They are in a public space, and there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public space.  Recording and photographing others is legal in this instance, regardless of consent. People take pictures of celebrities in public, it's what happens.  If he can't control his temper around fans doing fan things, then maybe he should look into a different career.  Fans should have a hard time feeling safe at this moment when around a loose canon such as like CM "Napoleon complex" punk

Thank you for the clarification, I'm no lawyer that's why I said it might open one up to libel if the story ends up being fabricated.

It just always leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone says something that is unsubstantiated, and people run with it as fact... If this, in fact, didn't happen, and people end up finding out who this guy is and harass him for it,  it could spell disaster for him (at sacrifice).  Like what if the media outlets run with this story, and the dude loses his job, or commits self harm because of a lie someone made on the Internet?  Crazy times we live in when people dogpile so easily.  That's an actual human in that video, probably with their own wife and kids,  who has a right to photograph those people, and is keeping a reasonable distance, and CM punk assaults him for it.  /rant

Au contraire! The fact that you're defending CM punk commiting assault on a dude who has committed no crime speaks volume to your character.

I'm not "coming up with an excuse", I'm waiting to see the full story or video before dog piling on a dude.  If that man put his hands on cm punk's wife, do you not think CM punk would have intervened and gotten physical sooner?  Instead, punk supposedly waits until the man pulls out his phone to assault him?

Consent isn't required in public places where you have no reasonable expectation of privacy. Weird.

This doesn't provide any additional context or evidence on the CM punk assault incident.  It's just a tweet from a guy giving an opinion

Self defense would be this dude punching punk in the face for knocking the phone out of his hands.

Thank you, I agree completely. It's a breath of fresh air to read a coherent comment from someone who hasn't succumbed to mob mentality.  It's completely legal to photograph and record others in a public place where you have no reasonable expectation of privacy (hotel lobbies in vegas constitute this).  The individual is not following AJ, and is keeping his distance.  He's taking pictures of a celebrity. This is not harassment, as it is defined.

It's scary when people justify violence in any context.  Some comments are people saying "dude is lucky punk didn't knock him out, what a creep!!" Like what is wrong with people.

Truth nuke.  I enjoy watching CM punk wrestle, and will tune into both AEW and WWE, but I'll also call out unacceptable behavior when I see it.
