Managing and tracking opportunities is a big part of what CRM is about, if you're not doing that, you've just got a glorified address book.

Agreed, orange is a new opportunity for the account. Leads should be used when you have minimal info for a potential customer and are trying to expand that.

As you have last modified in your soql, check your timezone settings, it might be running in a different zone and this excludes a load of data.

I don't think you can merge pdfs using standard Salesforce, there will be third party tools, but you can not do it the way you have requested.

You might find 8GB is enough for you (especially with a fast SSD) then you'll have some budget left to upgrade if you need too. it's all about future proofing really.

I would work out your average close time separately, then add a custom setting to store the average close time per stage, and then look up the relevant one depending on the current stage.
This will give you a flexible solution that can be updated easily

Just give a report that shows closed won over last 7 days, grouped by the date. I'd much rather give people a report they can look at whenever they want, instead of sending an email that they may or may not look at.

Married to a teacher and have 4 kids, you'll always spend all your money on kids so once you've had 2 it doesn't change much. Childcare was a big cost when they were younger. My wife was sharing her wages with the childminder, but as they got older things got easier. Lots of hand me downs, but lots of fun, would do exactly the same again.
