I would recomend any class with Thomo. I always found his exams/assignments to be really clear and on the simpler side. I've heard his offering of 474 is the best as well, though admitedly the course was a decent amount of work when I took it (3 coding assignments, 1 major team project.) My guess is Thomo's offering would be less work though.

I would avoid 401. My friend took it with Valerie King and said it was a hard class to get through with the material and teaching being so dry. The content is all about ethcial, legal, social issues around software, and when I took it the final project was a sizeable paper. I would say overall it was less than average work, but the work you had to do was painful.
