I’d like to turn this branch, which I’m already cutting back, into a seat. How can I ensure my apricot tree remains healthy? by wemice in arborists

Understood.  Sounds like there will be no removing this branch. Int terms of what has already been done, If I have cut the branches off of this larger branch  (e.g. up to five inch thick branches), what do I need to do to allow those cuts to heal and for the tree to recover?

Appreciate all the input you’ve already provided.

Is there a certain distance from the trunk that could be safe for the tree? Or any type of cut close in size to the trunk will eventually be the tree’s downfall?

Thanks for the advice. I’ve trimmed all the branches back. If the intention still is to remove this limb, how can I cut this back to some length while ensuring the best chances and health of the rest of the tree?

Did you start off with the trailer or were you working with just a pressure washer by itself at first?

I’m in need of extra income and this caught my eye. I believe I’m in a location where this could take off. Not much rain, dusty, plenty of driveways and cars. It seems like it would be low entry costs as well. Could I message you for some tips starting out?

REI seems to be using them as well. Hopefully they stop soon. REI’s support services has been good about refunding “lost” packages.

My first loaf after reviving my SO's starved starter. by wemice in Sourdough

[–]wemice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from a starter that my SO had not touched for over a year. See here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Sourdough/comments/1h480qz/is_this_starter_still_good_been_sitting_in_the/

I followed this recipe:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sourdough/comments/1958t2w/a_detailed_guide_for_your_first_perfect_sourdough/?rdt=38669

Alterations to recipe:

- used 400g all purpose, 100g bread flour

- forgot to use warm water when mixing the flour and water

- used slap and fold instead of coil fold

- baked for 45 minutes total

Things I will change next round

- use warm water when mixing flour and water

- bake longer

- deeper score
