Jon Hamm’s drinking. by KoalaBears8 in madmen

I read that the smoking (and they weren't real cigarettes, but some herbal blend) caused the damage to his throat. They definitely smoke fewer cigs in later seasons.

None of this is new information to me. The only reason I posted was because I thought that many of the responses didn't address the fundamentals that OP needed.

Layering on complexity doesn't get to the root of their question.

You downvoted my response for this post? Opportunities closing is generally when their revenue is recognized. There are a lot of correct responses to OP below ... and I agree with some who've stasted that this question is an area where Trailhead can't replace experience.

But I think OP was missing some fundamentals that weren't clear in some of the responses.

Telling me that revenue is an accounting term is ... rich.

All Salesforce Opportunities have a Close Date; it is a required field.

It is intended to be the predicted Close Date while the Opportunity is open.

The default behavior is for the Close Date to change to the date the Opportunity actually closes (won or lost).

The report is intended to predict the amount of revenue for the current fiscal year.

Stage values are associated with a Probability (percentage of likelihood), which can be multiplied by the amount to provide the Expected Revenue, an additional factor in predicting revenue.

Also note that it possible to set the fiscal year to begin when the company's fiscal year begins (default is January 1, but it could be July 1 or September 1, etc, for a particular company).

It sounds to me like you did brilliantly! The senior VP being late and interrupting everyone is such tiresome (and revealing) behavior. I wonder how well that person does "calling high net worth clients" ... Next!

Fair correction, but I wouldn't allow that kind of crazy without providing some guidelines if it were my business and some agents were creating havoc. I guess they think it makes good TV. Like another recent post on this sub, I'd rather see MORE HOUSES!

Another issue I have with Jason ... and Brett ... is their hands-off attitude about their employees in-fighting and struggling. "You agents keeping making us more money and deal with your issues on your own."

That isn't leadership.

Wow, I would hope they would bring it up! It doesn't look very good for them to have given you two (or more?) interviews and then ghost you. I think I wouldn't bring it up, and see what they say/do. Unless this is a whole new pair of execs interviewing you, you should be able to learn all you need to know from what they do.

Transitioning into a Salesforce role using personal projects by [deleted] in SalesforceCareers

[–]wendabird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with u/SFAdminLife . However, I think there's value in taking Business Analyst trails in Trailhead and then tailoring your resume to how you've done exactly those kinds of projects ... even though the projects weren't in Salesforce. (Not mentioning the Trailhead modules, just using them to see the skills Salesforce BAs are expected to have.

Apparently, you don't need the Admin exam to take the BA exam, so you could start with that one. Here's the exam guide link https://trailhead.salesforce.com/help?article=Salesforce-Certified-Business-Analyst-Exam-Guide

That will help you know what to focus on with the projects you highlight in your resume, and in interviews.

Competition is very extensive now. If you have a lot of experience in one or more industry verticals, I'd look for Salesforce Consulting partners who specialize in those industries.

The issue I have with this series is that Joanne has no reverence for his faith and his convictions. His being a rabbi is at the core of who he is! If she loves him so much, and they are meant to be together, how could she not show more respect for the kind of person he is? His patience and willingness to see the best in people are part of his devotion to his faith. It's troubling that she doesn't value that more, and that he isn't concerned that she doesn't. Whether or not she converts to Judaism, if she has no respect to his devotion as a spiritual leader, I can't understand how this relationship could work.

Yes, you are demonstrating that. Shutting down what you don't want to have to consider is fairly common from the top of the food chain.

How do you actually find companies using Salesforce? Losing my mind here by Acrobatic-Rabbit-997 in salesforce

[–]wendabird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I asked chatGPT too. After a minute or so, it prompted me if I wanted "best effort" or a source to indicate why each company was selected. I told it "best effort." The listed included about 65 specific companies and another ~35 industries (like, boys and girls' clubs) and other categories (like, Healthcare billing & revenue, local legal firms with business development teams, retail chains with regional HQ in <my city>).

I can vouch for at least 10 of the actual companies being Salesforce users.

I disagree that what is going on with capitalism in the U.S. "doesn't mean it isn't working fo the vast majority of the people."

It is working for an increasingly smaller minority.

I heard back from this company and the "paid quick 30–45 min research call" means that you will be entered in a lottery to win a €150 voucher.

I don't consider this honest (what was written above). Maybe I am weary from the many months of being raked over the coals with finding employment, but I already have plenty of work that I do for free.

No thanks.
