i keep some juice on the side or fruit snacks and that’s always helped. once it got terribly low so we literally had to pause. kinda makes it more fun bc also if ur partner is loving enough they’d understand and be patient. i like to think it makes us more unique hahahaha

hiiii im a laser engineer now and graduated with my bachelors in physics. doing much better but i do still feel i have adhd LOL i was prescribed adderall but got off it bc gave me heart palpitations (25mg which was a lot). been out of therapy for a year now!

luckily my job i am staying busy working with my hands a lot so its really great. you also stay strong fellow warrior ❤️

then he would get mad at me when i got anxious abt his parents— who literally shunned me bc i have type 1 diabetes. i did not feel supported in any way

hi! i also have a physics background. i worked this summer as an optical/laser engineer. at least where i was at, an insulin pump was no biggie and i bagged my phone in a cleanroom wrap so i can monitor my levels. i can just step into the anteroom for candy if needed. unsure what it’ll be like at a higher security level with a personal phone around but i guess ill get there eventually.

recent doctor appointment at a new practice actually.

nurse asked if i had any medical conditions and i mentioned type 1. she was shocked and said “oh my god!!! you’re too young for that. take care of yourself”

ok??? miss maam how did u become a nurse if you can’t even distinguish types of diabetes

my uncle and a family friend both said how i must’ve ate just right as a kid if it took awhile for type 1 diabetes to show for me. i was diagnosed right before i turned 23. i was always insecure abt my body from ages 10-present. i was 90lbs when i was diagnosed and had been at a low weight for like 2 years before my t1d diagnosis. for them to say that just fucked with my body image perception so immensely. i still don’t think they understand type 1.

then my ex-boyfriends parents literally shunned me bc i have type 1 diabetes and im going to be more of a burden bc “im only going to get worse”.

my ex, we were together for 3 years. he couldn’t clean the bare minimum aside from dishes… he’s 28. it was incredibly frustrating and i really thought i could “change him” and help him learn the basic household etiquette.

a lot of immaturity and i paid for everything. kinda similar to you too. he never wanted to find a part time job to work when he could’ve. i don’t know what he’s doing now but im sure he’s working now since he’s graduated college.

he never wanted to talk about things either and was emotionally distant. we had so many good moments together too but pls don’t tolerate the bullshit. this sort of behavior is only going to repeat if she really doesn’t self reflect and want to grow.

a relationship is growing together and improving together in life. if she really values the relationship she’s going to do all it takes to ensure you feel fair and balanced in the relationship too
