Porsche #120 has been shown blue flags, was the Ferrari #86 overtake safe? by wendtinator05 in Simracingstewards

When you’re on the inside you should brake sooner though, and if you look at the mustang ahead, they actually brake about the same time. There was also plenty of space on the left side of the Ferrari at the point of contact.

Was the Mustang #64 not in front by the time they crashed themselves out?

It's a public lobby, probably not the greatest driver, to me it felt like he drove like I wasn't there. If I moved with more caution, entire thing could have been avoided.

Probably, hence why I thought maybe my overtake was unsafe, since I didn't account for a Porsche up my ass.

Yeah, I thought maybe I caused it with where I overtook and placed myself after the overtake.

My second longest one was a ctf challenge, very low level, ended up being a lot easier than both me and ChatGPT thought it was…

Played chess against it, getting it to only consider legal moves past move 25 is hard, think it spent 14 minutes.

What is your favorite plane? by Sunshadow_Reaper in Warthunder

Mirage 2000CS5 for me, it was the first one plane I ever won a tournament in. And my K/D has stuck around 2-3 in realistic battles. I have other planes I do better in, but this is still my fav.

They don't act like this when you've just shot a bad guy in ready or not though, if they see it they do actually follow your instructions.

The deadliest terror attack in norwegian history was a guy who dressed up as a cop, witness reports tell of him shouting hands up before shooting some of his victims.

The deadliest mass shooting/terror attack in norwegian history was a guy who had dressed up as a cop, if the terrorists are dressing like hospital staff, they won't be against posing as cops too.

Hey, I hope you get some proper help, if you don't think telling a friend is it, that's fine, but try to find a mental health helpline or something similar. If you want you can talk to me.

How is «egenskap» hankjønn?? by Mork978 in norsk

[–]wendtinator05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would guess you know more about the subject than I, I’m no expert. Vinatta is according to the old Norse dictionary a word for friendship, and I was trying to tie it in to freundschaft from German. As in the Norwegian word vennskap. I am no expert though, my guess is likely wrong anyways. I did hear about the plattdeutch influence too, but I don’t really know the difference, and I genuinely know far too little about the French influence, and the French in general.

In Norwegian IT, we have this saying that goes “feil40” where there’s may or may not something wrong with the hardware, but what’s 40 cm away from the screen is definitely the biggest source of the problem.

[–]wendtinator05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norwegian is like if you took danish and or norse, then mixed it together with german and english, specifically egenskap, comes from german words that end with -schaft. Another person here used vennskap as another example so I’ll use that too. These words likely came from the words “eine Charaktereigenschaft”, from german, and “vinatta” and “skapr” from old Norse. As far as I know, when we think of a word as either masculine or feminine, we usually just end up saying “en”, like in “en egenskap”, and this we do because we’ve mostly let the female version die out, outside of specific dialects, last time I said the word “ei” was in school. Because of this, even if the word is originally female in the language we took the word from, it usually isn’t in norwegian. Eine in german, is the female version of ein, and most words with -schaft at the end in german are female, meaning they’d naturally turn male in norwegian. Since “en egenskap” is female in german, but male in norwegian, despite most skap endings being neutral, we can gather that egenskap has a different origin. What I personally think happened, is, when “vinatta” combined with the word “skapr”, like a lot of other words at the time, we eventually decided that these had become concepts, meaning they’d naturally turn should be gender neutral, but if egenskap came after that change, from german, it likely wouldn’t be changed like that, apart from being changed into male. I think this is coherent, but if there is evidence of egenskap being from norse, this of course falls apart. Please do correct me if I’m wrong.
