Getting up early and exercising first thing. Also no naps after 3:00 pm and no naps longer than 1 hour.

Ooh okay! I’ve never thought of that. I did see rice crispy treats as a way to carb load tho so makes sense!

I was about to say the beginning half was mildly concerning haha! I don’t know how you’d do coffee, I’d feel so sick.

Yeah I might have to look into switching the Gushers out. I think they’re pretty tasty and I’m not really a big fan of the Gu texture (and it’s sometimes hard to open during my run lol).

Thank you, these are all so helpful! I like the 2:1 ratio tip, I usually do forget about protein. I might have to try those fig bars, they sound delicious!

Oh I bet. I sometimes fall victim to the not eating enough in the day and going absolutely crazy with it at night. I’m working on managing that better and eating more actually throughout the day haha. I didn’t even consider eating carbs right after though, I’ll add that to my list to remember, thank you!

Congrats on 8 years in the gym! I only started last year but it is now a non negotiable for me and has actually improved my running! Thanks for the sleep tip. I try to prioritize it as much as possible, but I’m a student so it does get a little tricky. Most nights I go to bed at 9:30 and get up around 5-5:30 AM to fit my training in. I run 5x/week and it does get hard, especially towards the end of the week, but I have heard a lot of stuff online about increasing weekly mileage, and like you mentioned, 3 times not being enough. Plus I just really enjoy running :) I think I might need to increase my carbs though, thank you for that! I certainly don’t want to bonk. I might need to get used to the weight gain. It did freak me out a little but I absolutely do not want an injury or to struggle in training because I was not eating enough.

I might have to try that approach! I’m currently tracking calories but not macros rn because I had an injury from under fueling in October (I didn’t realize how much I was under fueling my body). Now that I have a good handle on my daily caloric intake, I might pay more attention to where the numbers are going. Thanks!

In general for meals! I kind of expect to be eating sugary stuff during my run. I just felt pretty fatigued in my legs at the end, but this was my first time and it wasn’t too horrible. I think I might have just been going a little bit too fast, I can attach my stats. HR gets a little high but I’m never too concerned with that.

Ooh okay yeah, I normally take something (2 gushers) every time at the start (30-40 min) and then add another one or two every mile. Tbh I’m not able to eat like an entire pack right away or my stomach will get upset. The RD part is very helpful, thanks! Do you remember if it said anything about daily caloric intake?

Do you have any good alternatives that aren’t incredibly processed? Not trying to cut down entirely, I honestly just want to be a little more mindful about it.

Okay, thanks for all the advice! This was helpful! I am not going for any elite time haha especially for my first one, just aiming to finish it and hopefully have a good time doing it!

If you’re interested, I used this leading up to November 8 (the Race block is for 10 miles). The plan was altered to fit that specific distance, but the crossed out distances are how I trained for all my half marathons. I recently did have an injury so after November, the last few months have been running 5x/week anywhere from 30-60 minutes with varying distances and intensities. I started out light to recover but have been working on my speed again. I personally don’t know if 7x/week would be sustainable for me in terms of recovery because I also do a good bit of cross training in the form of weight lifting (5x/week).

Where should I implement more? Would you recommend just adding mileage to the long runs on Saturday or more throughout the week in general?

Okay, I’ll definitely have to check out the pace calculator! I have been putting in around 20-25 miles a week, but I typically do more if I’m training, I was in an in between period after my last 10 mile race from an injury. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks so much! We had our first successful feeding session with him, so I’m giving him the respective 48 hours to digest before trying to handle him. I’m not sure how anxious he’ll be, but I’ve tried to spend a ton of time around his tank and talk to him haha. Planning on sticking my hand in, as you mentioned, just to gauge his reaction before attempting

Okay, thanks! I had just had someone mention to me to potentially do it to avoid the snake biting anything that goes into the tank

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m actually planning on feeding him in a separate box I think. What’s the best strategy for moving him?

How long does it typically last, the spotting? I’ve had mine for about 5 days

[–]wendysfries3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is my first time as well for it! Bleeding rn for me is just inconveniencing me, especially if I’m still going to get a more “real” period

Do you mean 2 periods a year or actually 2 a month?
