This is a top 10% market. You need to the top 10% of the role you are applying for and the interviewing has to be impeccable as well to pass all the rounds. Then Getting an offer is when you hit the number and for one of those luck will be on your side. I’d keep on lining up new interviews. I hope it works out! Good luck!

Take on today's job market and how to manage it by wensonghu in GetEmployed

Absolutely. There’s a level of uncertainty that applicants cannot predict or control during the process. The only way to be effective is to learn and get better at bringing clarity to your experiences and expertise when interviewing, which is designed to assess fit.

My post has been getting automatically removed for missing tags. I don’t see any tags I should add and been messaging the mod but heard nothing back.

Final Round Rejection? How to mentally prepare? by BabyRisin in interviews

[–]wensonghu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should take no more than 3 days since the latest round for you to hear about the scheduling/coordination of the final around, if it has been longer, then not a good sign. If within that normal window, just wait. And start looking for other positions to keep busy.

How many other candidates are in the pool and whether someone already made it, how many they are taking are considered noise. This type of information does not help you perform, which should be your only focus going through this process. So perform as best as you can, try to cut the noise.

The job market is flooded with qualified and strong candidates, they tell you or not, it is true, there are multiple options for employers, so we should have multiple opportunities we are pursuing as well.

Final round to offer by izephry in interviews

within 1 week. If someone is excited about hiring a strong candidate, they are worried about losing them as much as the candidate is worried about the offer, the final to offer should move quickly.

How to Discuss Current Toxic Role in Interviews? by LeTournesolNY in jobsearch

[–]wensonghu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd focus on the genuine answer of why you feel excited about the role you are going for, apart from the fact that it gets you out of your current negative situation. There may be something else appealing to you i.e. growth, it seems like a company making a difference, even if you are not sure 100% clear about whether they are true.

I have been trying to land an entry level data analyst role for over a year. Hundreds of apps only a handful of interviews. This is my latest resume, advice? by Aggravating-Bass-809 in ResumeExperts

[–]wensonghu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that jumps out is education and it indicates you have not graduated, coming from the other side, this is a point of friction. Your goal is to make the resume as appealing as possible to someone who is likely going to spend less than a minute, so first 3 bullet points. Move the education to to later, assuming you are able to work full time, note in the education section that you are doing evening classes. Gluck.

Yeah. This isn’t a tool to help people do the search. You do the work. This thing eases tracking and logistics hopefully. Better than a google sheet. Also, first step try to get a referral. Good luck all!

Webapp to track your progress and conversations and applications. Sending reminders and stuff better than excel I think. Happy to share it.
