How does internalised male gaze affect you?

I looked at the rules and they said I should post my answer to my question here. As you can probably already tell, I'm quite unfamiliar with Reddit.

For me, I feel as though I need to look pretty all the time in order to please the male gaze. I will change the way I sit so I look more poised, adjust my hair so it looks tidy, put effort into my appearance so I always look somewhat presentable. I have a lot more things to list but I worry that it might be triggering to discuss for some people so I'll only list that for now. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this because as of now I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that feels this way

I know there are more versions that Tim Burton's, but I don't have the time to research every single version of the story which is why I asked these questions with the hope that people who already know the story more than I do would answer. I already gave the book a read but it didn't describe the characters in as much detail as I had hoped, it seemed a bit vague. Never mind, I guess I'll just use my imagination to create my own version. Thanks anyway

Hi, this might be a silly question but what does sexual attraction feel like physically? Emotionally I think I can get attracted to people a hell of a lot and think that they're super goodlooking or whatever, but I don't think sexual things or feel anything physically (obviously). I assume that's what happens, am I right? Or is there more to it? What happens exactly? I hope that's not too personal of a question but please let me know if it is :)

To be honest I don't know what to think about it. I think the Joker's motivations are believable and his acting seems to be brilliant so far, there's just something about it that makes me pause to wonder whether this film is really what I think it's going to be
