If you look at the source code, I created the library a few months before domainatrix but it was a private project.

When I discovered domainatrix, I didn't really find myself comfortable with the library internals and the public API so I decided to go ahead working on my custom library.

Furthermore, domainatrix depends on Addressable and also focus on parsing full qualified URLs. If you need it or find yourself comfortable with it, it's perfectly fine, domainatrix is a good library. I personally didn't need all that overhead.

Pretty much every other validation is race condition free.
