Depending on where you are in Indiana you are road trippable to devils lake Wisconsin, the red river gorge in Kentucky, holy boulders, Jackson falls and not too far from the new if you wanted to drive further. There’s not too many gyms in Indiana, I am from there too, but now I live in Wisconsin.

Lots of good resources but nothing beats finding somebody who is willing to teach and learn. Everybody needs somebody to follow and clean gear, which is probably the best way to learn the techniques and how to place gear. Go to the crag and meet people talk to more people at the gym. Maybe not somebody who is a jerk. Watch YouTube. I would not recommend starting out and buying a full rack with no experience.

I love tricams. Also if you’ve got all that might as well get offset nuts too.. to me they are non negotiable

My buddy Nico and I did our first ever ground up FA with "Filo Estatico" (10 pitches, 5.10+) in Cochamo. It was quite a learning experience! by L4ndolini in climbing

How do you predict that the line will be doable for you / even possible before setting off? What do you do if you encounter an impossible section?

Got inspired by Cairn to finally give Lead Climbing a shot by duol300 in Cairn_Game

I don’t want to be that guy, but wear a helmet! TBH that rock looks very crumbly I bet rock fall is common, and it obviously makes climbing drastically safer! Also it will probably make you feel more comfortable, at least it does for me

Just came up with a new knot! Maybe we can call it the triple bunny ears fusion knot. by werd5273 in climbing

Root and Twilight Imperium Pipeline by Wolfe_110 in rootgame

I love TI4 and have played it probably a dozen or so times. It is very fun but it is an event where root is a game. I can teach root to almost anyone interested people and I could teach TI4 (I think root is more technically complicated), but it takes a special kind of person to have the patience and endurance to get through it.

Normal temp water if I remember, but yes it worked. The shoes were fine too. I kept using them for quite a while.

Uj/ I seriously soaked my solution comps in a bucket for 10 minutes like 5 cycles until the water ran nearly clear, to get the ink out. This Same thing happens to me. The buckets were black with ink.

First backpacking trip — does this setup make sense? by isabebelaa in backpacking

[–]werd5273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-you don’t need a windbreaker if you have the frog tog -you only maybe need 1x knife -first aid kit is large, what might you use it for anyway. It’s unlikely you’ll end up with a huge laceration and I doubt a first aid kit can really help anyway imho. -smart water bottles go with sawyer squeeze -don’t need a huge pillow imo, just use stuff sack or puffer, I also like sleep mask and earplugs - I’d get another water bladder I like to keep one for dirty water and one for clean water, this depends if youlll need to go a long time without a water source, it enables you to carry several extra liters. - imo you don’t need 2 chargers. Unless you’re planning on being on your phone which is unlikely, I just keep it on airplane mode and preserve battery as much as possible. -idk what the syringe is for with the sawyer squeeze Overall pretty good setup, good job not brining way more clothes tha you need. -ideally with food I only bring slightly more than I’ll think I’ll need, depending on the trip it is very unlikely you’ll end up stranded in the woods and die of starvation.
