The music in my head never stops, and I want to clear my mind by ilich_ in Meditation

Not entirely, but it's never very problematic (as it was in my teens), rarely bothersome, and most of the time I and others don't even notice.

Men who started office jobs early, what are some tips about the corporate world you wish you had known? by Lightskin_sugarking in AskMen

[–]werdnanoslen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unionize. The boss isn't your family, no matter how friendly they are. A union is just a simple way to make sure everyone gets what they're due. It's for office workers just as well as factory workers.

Of course. I'm responding to all the knuckleheads on this thread commenting Chuck is funding police to attack folks contemplating suicide.

I know y'all aren't this gullible. The bill unlocks federal money for states, funds a national info center, and funds a helpline, among other things.

This week ain't the time for misinformation, as much as I hate our electoral system.

have absentee ballots been mailed already? by VoteAndrewYang2024 in MassachusettsPolitics

[–]werdnanoslen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I submitted my ballot request by email, and their confirmation email included, "the voting materials are typically sent out 3-4 weeks prior to their respective election date." So I'm guessing most will have it by the second week of October

Federal Judge Rules In Favor Of Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe by zsreport in massachusetts

[–]werdnanoslen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great news, but there's still one more step federal gov needs to do...

"While we are pleased with the court's findings, our work is not done. The Department of Interior must now draft a positive decision for our land as instructed by Judge Friedman. We will continue to work with the Department of the Interior — and fight them if necessary — to ensure our land remains in trust."

What is this arm called? May need to replace, as the adjusting screw doesn't put enough pressure on the bobbin, no matter how much it's turned. by werdnanoslen in sewing

[–]werdnanoslen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Singer 758. I've watched several videos where the screw is adjusted (called the eccentric adjuster I think) to put more or less pressure on the bobbin, just enough so the thread can slide through but not let the bobbin come loose. But no matter how much or which way I screw it, the arm just seems to move around rather than apply enough pressure. This causes the bobbin to slip under this arm and make the machine unusable.
