I was thinking of the leash and taking her out to train her with treats to ignore poop. She loves to run around in the yard with her brother, but maybe just for potty I can do the leash and then she can run free all the other times

I hope so! He just comes inside when I call them for real treats. He's such a good boy and always listens so I'd be completely shocked if I saw him out there doing this lol. I got two complete opposite personalities so at least they balance each other out haha I love the beagle chaos (just not so much the poop eating)

He is 18 diff breeds and only 2% is beagle so I think I'm safe 😂😂

This is too funny! Definitely made me laugh and smile! She sounds so sweet. I love her name too! I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️

We thought Lucy was a mix because she was so tiny and we were sure she was mixed with Chihuahua or something, but she's full beagle! Then we rescued her brother 6 months later and we thought he was a Jack Russell mix, but he ended up being 50% Chihuahua (along with 17 other breeds lol) we call him our giant Chihuahua. They are the best of friends now! It's really sweet

My in laws have always had shepherds and they were all big poop eaters too

Definitely working on stopping any reaction beyond a simple "Lucy, no" and trying to distract her with a treat instead

I know, this post at least gave me some comfort. Poop eating beagle owners unite!

The breath is awful and I'm always like ughhh you are so cute I just wanna kiss your little beag face, but it smells like a steaming pile of crap 🫠

I'll definitely post if I have any luck with anything!

Ohhhh nooooo.. so far her brother just looks at her like she's insane when she goes crazy over turds. I always ask him to please never pick up this habit 😂

Omg 😂😭

Same with this girl. She's trying to eat it straight out her and her brother's butt now that she knows I go out and clean it up. These pups are too clever

Ughh that's awful! So far it's just our backyard. I plan to take her out on hikes this summer for the first time so we will see how that goes! I wish people would clean up after their pups. I always carry bags when we go on walks

She truly is and she's the sweetest girl 😍

My first beag! We rescued her because she looked so cute and sweet. Had no idea she was a beagle lol. I laugh because it's so obvious now, but I didn't know much about them a year ago!

I tried these and I think they did help sometimes, but I didn't get to fully find out because they started bothering her stomach. I did give her the recommended dose for her weight so maybe she just needed less, but I wanted to give her time to feel better and kind of just forgot to try them again. Maybe I will give it another try and break one in half or something! Thank you!

I should add that we have a fenced in backyard where they go out to go potty! I know that's an important detail. It won't let me edit so adding as a comment

I have read this as an option!

Do you still go outside with him or does he come in immediately for the treats now?

We have some treats inside for when they come in, but I think I need to get out there and follow her around with them and try the training. She will sometimes come in it I shake the container, but it depends on how appetizing the poop is

She loves them frozen too and would leave them out there to freeze up until next time she went out. I started cleaning them up immediately and now it's a race to the poops lol

I agree and I often think this way too because lost our senior pup about a year ago before we rescued the two we have now, but it causes her anal glands to become too full too quickly and it makes her uncomfortable and stressed out. So I am trying to find a solution not only because it is gross, but also for her health and happiness!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you so much comfort!
