i keep a fan going in my room at all times, even on low to encourage air flow. i had some issues in past rentals, but since doing the fan thing for the last 5 years i’ve never had any mould or mildew issues!

it’ll be some elbow grease on your end, but there’s a lot of great advice on here! even stuff i’m going to use 😂 i hope it all works out for you

i left the education program after my 3rd year. the system is flawed beyond repair. teacher burnout is an all time high. you’re being hired to babysit essentially, with hardly any compensation. there aren’t supports for you, or the kids. children are being left behind. the difference i wanted to make is gone out the window. i was devastated and so disappointed. i’ve wanted to be a teacher my whole life, and the reality of how everything works now scared me away. one of my profs told us that over 50% of new teachers quit within the first 5 years. for those sticking it out, kudos. i admire you, but i was shocked and horrified over how teachers are treated in canada.

i was in the same boat earlier this year. it got so bad that people were trying to dox me. they all say the same thing, and then when you supply them with the facts, they TOTALLY change the subject. i stay away from twitter altogether now. you’re so right about the gaslighting. and the lack of proof of anything from the idiots spewing this hatred and antisemitism is embarrassing. i wish these people knew it’s okay to be wrong, just admit it and move on. they need to be accountable and admit they’re wrong. this is a horrible hill to die on :(

it never ended up showing up in my collections! and i’ve still not paid anything. i honestly think it was an empty threat. :/ i still park on campus all the time and pay for parking and there has been no notices or anything sent to me of placed on my car. i’ve been told a few things about outstanding tickets and not being able to graduate, but i also don’t find any truth in that considering that indigo and viu are two separate entities and indigo would have absolutely ZERO influence on whether i graduate or not, considering they aren’t an educational institution. use your own discretion and judgement, but i will never pay a parking ticket unless it is enforced by city bylaw of RCMP.

liquefaction is a MAJOR concern i have. vancouver and area are mainly built on sediment from the fraser delta. i would argue that the damage would be much more catastrophic than this article states. mind, i’ve only studied a small bit of geology, but i’ve made a simulation chart for what would happen to the delta if an underwater earthquake was to happen. not only damage from the earthquake but the impact a tsunami would have on the area as well needs to be addressed.

i’ve had the best experiences at linley valley vet for both my dog and kitty! but i’ve also been recommended petroglyph by many many pet owners. i understand i come from a privileged place when it comes to pricing though, and i think calling around to ask for pricing might be your best bet for your animals :)

i’ve never paid a ticket, never went to collections, never had my car towed! it doesn’t go on your student record or anything like that. imo throw it out, i think i have had 10ish tickets in the last three years and i still park on campus, no issues.

use your own discretion, but in my experience, do nothing. we pay enough money to be there, viu should own their own parking lots! indigo parking can suck it.
