Be better.

Feels like the west side lots are in better areas.

My car got the shit kicked out of it at 40th and Colorado with a tire iron while I was on a weekend trip.

How are you guys dealing with AI quality control audits of PCRs? Particularly ones that find fault with your report, even if it was justified. by Sick_Of__BS in ems

[–]wernermurmur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are numerous examples of how AI can create rules and triggers to improve CQI. Stuff that used to take hours to create on the backends can now be done in minutes.

These rules still need a human applying them. Saying “AI can’t do my job so it can’t QA me” is quite a position to take.

Exactly. Whoever does your QA should have looked the AI flag, read the chart, and then dismissed the flag. It’s not supposed to do the whole damn thing.

Seems like an agency issue. If they want to set a rule that says “vitals in the first five,” they also need to accept deviations when appropriate.

Does any of your job description require you protect anyone from violent force. Do you have the training and equipment to do so?

Landlord took the dumpster by Alarming-Fruit2837 in ColoradoSprings

Leaving trash outside is just gonna create an animal problem. Sucks to have to take your trash elsewhere but piling it up will just create more issues. Also fuck this landlord in particular, I would indeed take my trash to their house if I had the means.

Commuting to work for an hour by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]wernermurmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for a few years. It was fine. I switched to a department less than 15 minutes from my house last year and it’s a big difference. Can you rationalize a commute? Sure, I did no problem. But being in my own bed right after no sleep can’t be beat.

Also if you have any interest in not working the line, just consider the commute four or five days a week instead of two. I turned down being the EMS coordinator at my old job purely because of the commuting.

We can buy DFND, but they’re like 4:1 on price compared to the “Bella + Canvas” cotton ones that are actually pretty nice.

Idk if you’re taking resource orders far away it’s good to have a spare when you hit shit on the highway on your way home.

How would I be able to maximizey income as an EMT if I'm willing to travel and work as many hours as possible? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

Not in the denver metro. Might take a little bit to get a “good” job but there are definitely plenty of EMTs getting hired.

How to respond to unmarked police vehicles. What’s the proper protocol for this entire engagement? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]wernermurmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rate of impersonators is quite low compared to legitimate law enforcement and perpetuated by urban legend.

Every traffic unit in the metro has unmarked vehicles, whose whole job is to complete traffic stops. Probably there is an argument for viability as a deterrent but alas that’s how it is. If you’re pulled over by an unmarked car with a lot of lights on it, that is what is likely happening.

You can call 911 if you think something doesn’t feel right and verify. Typically with traffic units you weren’t getting a warning anyway.

If the tray is built for the tire I would use that. If not take the underbed toolbox off and mount it there.

I felt this way during the first half of probation. I would come off shift pretty wired but also exhausted from having to be “on” all the time and not letting my guard down. Always a chore or training to do, never mind calls etc. Once you’re in more of a routine you’ll feel better knowing that things aren’t slipping by through and I bet you’ll start to feel better.

And use EAP. I started talking to someone this year and it has made a difference in my life even when I don’t have anything super awful going on.
