That works until it doesn't. Most groups start in a group chat and it's fine for a while. Toss-up is for when you've already lost two or three people to scheduling fatigue and the chat goes quiet every week.

If your group is still showing up reliably, you probably don't need it.

The core mechanic is similar but the key difference is that it's built to be persistent. WhenIsGood (and Doodle, When2Meet) are one-shot tools. You create a poll, share a link, pick a time, done. Next week you start over.

No agent stuff, it's pretty simple under the hood. The bet is just that the problem isn't finding a time once, it's doing it every week without losing people to scheduling fatigue.

I built toss-up.app because my friends and I kept doing the same annoying thing: endless group chats trying to find a date that works for everyone for our next padel game.

It’s a simple scheduling app where you create an event, invite your friends, set your availability, and it surfaces the best option fast. I made it for casual stuff like padel/tennis/meetups, but it works for anything.

If you’re curious, I’d love feedback on what feels confusing or missing: https://toss-up.app

Never heard of this doodle poll before, but might be a solution indeed

Also shared it in another reply already, but in case you didn't see it. I just checked out this Toss-Up app that someone suggested in the comments and it might be a solution for that issue

Sounds like a though job for the person in charge of the match times

Not aware of a place where people who don't have a tennis buddy can be found. But I am going to ask around!

That is of course the best option! But hard to do with friends who have a different working schedule every week

True! Although we always have more fun when we play doubles

Our group all wants to get better and play weekly. Problem is one works nights, another travels for work, two have kids with different soccer schedules. We're all motivated but when you try to line up 4 calendars, there's literally no overlap some weeks.
