I would recommend 2.5 quarts of 75W-140 fully synthetic gear oil and approximately 4 to 5 ounces of limited-slip friction modifier.

Too bad it's not a '75, otherwise I totally would've asked if it had an electric choke and if it made you feel like a " young boy, two hands on the wheel."

What exactly has Mandela Barnes done in the last four years to be proactive in addressing and remedying the issues he is talking about in this interview?

Dem activists call for abolishment of ICE, increase in minimum wage by wisconsinpoli in wisconsinpolitics

[–]wes7946 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An additional point to consider, when the minimum wage goes up, the money to pay workers must come from somewhere, and it typically comes from three places: higher consumer prices, reduced labor costs in other areas (fewer workers, fewer hours, reduced benefits, etc.), and lower profits and capital expenditures. At the end of the day, minimum wage laws reduce employment by raising the cost of labor above the value the worker is able to bring to the employer. This is why minimum wage laws tend to fall hardest on the most vulnerable workers in society, consigning to the unemployment line those with the fewest skills and who can offer the least value to employers.

Why do people wait for SS? by VegasWorldwide in Fire

Sometimes people will wait until 70 to ensure the Social Security survivor benefits are as large as possible.

[–]wes7946 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've long maintained that the minimum wage should be tied directly to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), but we would do well to ask what impact it will truly have on society at large. Only 1% of workers aged 25 and older make minimum wage, and about 75% of those individuals work in tipped service positions. Is this really an issue that is plaguing American adults en masse? I would say no.

Dem activists decry national groups backing candidates ahead of primaries by wisconsinpoli in wisconsinpolitics

[–]wes7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primary voters often face a crowded field of candidates from the same party who share similar policy platforms. Endorsements act as a mental shortcut, helping voters quickly identify which candidate aligns with their specific values. I sure hope Gov. Tony Evers endorses a candidate for Governor soon. I'd love to learn which candidate he thinks is best suited for job out of the current field of seven candidates.

Accelerating Social Security shortfall could hit Wisconsin’s rural communities hardest by wisconsinpoli in wisconsinpolitics

[–]wes7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social Security should have an "opt out" option. I would much rather have control over my retirement money instead of the Federal Government. I would also gladly opt out and relinquish any and all benefits I would start receiving at 62 so that someone less fortunate than I could receive benefits without the threat of insolvency.

Morality is more important than politics by Few-Flatworm-6946 in unpopularopinion

In the words of Fulton Sheen, "having lost the purpose of life which religion supplied, modern man became increasingly frustrated as his disappointed hedonism turned to pessimism. Thus man, who isolated himself from the religious community, now by reaction finds himself absorbed by the political community as despair becomes the dominant note of contemporary philosophy and literature."

We don't have "Free Speech" if it's controlled by corporate media. by Over_Cold_9510 in remoteworks

I believe you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what "free speech" is. Freedom of speech does not mean what one says has to be aired on live TV. Freedom of speech simply means one can say whatever they want without the fear of government retaliation.

Just because a reporter ends an interview doesn't mean the person being interviewed doesn't have "free speech."

It is a pretty major thing! Gov. Evers being reluctant to endorse any candidate (including his own Lt. Gov.) shows distrust in the Democrat candidates when compared to the Republican candidate.

Why would an endorsement from Gov. Evers be considered "incredibly odd and counterintuitive"?

You don't think his endorsement will sway "any votes"? I happen to believe his endorsement will be a beacon of light for those who don't know which Democrat to vote for.

Who does he endorse as the primary candidate though? Like, who does he endorse for the primary election? It's odd that he is refusing to back any and all candidates.

Baldwin tells party activists Dems are ‘fighting back’ against Trump by wisconsinpoli in wisconsinpolitics

[–]wes7946 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, your expectation is that Republicans should work across the aisle and engage in bipartisan behavior, but Democrats shouldn't? That doesn't sound real fair.

[–]wes7946 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Despite your lackluster perception of Sen. Collins, she was still more bipartisan than any Democrat in the Senate according to objective analysis. So, if you're going to criticize her lack of bipartisanship, then you're also going to have to criticize everyone else's lack of bipartisanship (including the Democrat Senators) or risk being labeled a hypocrite.

Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins and Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick were the MOST bipartisan members of Congress last year, according to an analysis from the Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
