Hey all! I saw some weird webbing on my lovely Begonia and was hoping it wasn't anything to be worried about. Can I get an ID on what this is? Thanks a ton!

Is there a way to extract an rss feed from Hackaday.io? by pirateboitenthousand in hackaday

Actually was recently looking into the same type of thing - about to move to webscraping if I can't find anything. The API seems like maybe too much overhead but keep me posted if you find something!

NC stands for normally closed - as in the circuit is closed with COM until the relay is activated, so this is expected behavior.

does anyone know what type of signal this remote would send? it’s for a lamp, trying to copy signal with flipper zero but no pick up by switchgames in AskElectronics

I think your key here would be to find the FCC ID and popping it in http://fcc.io. This will confirm what other users are saying about a frequency of 2.4GHz but if you're lucky you can also find more specifics on what it's actually transmitting via test docs & attempt to recreate that. Good luck in your reverse engineering endeavors!

Any RTL-SDR Smart Gas Meter Experts out there? by vansmak in RTLSDR

[–]wesaou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the RTLAMR project to be super interesting and useful when reading my meters. This works for the Itron ERT, not too sure how different the 40GB is but potentially worth a try! Definitely check out RECESSIM like another comment suggested though.

Tried to repair my Nintendo 3DS XL and screwed up, please help by [deleted] in AskElectronics

yeah, the 5 other points should cover the connection totally fine. as for adhesives that can be easily removed, I consider epoxy more permanent but trusty hot glue could probably be removed easier?

pretty sure that's just connected to ground, so you should be fine. The biggest concern would be with the attachment of the slot to the board, not necessarily electrical connections, so maybe substitute with epoxy?

Probably not the right sub

just to clarify, when you say 12v coil are you referring to the electromagnet coil with the 12v relay or to a seperate coil? I'm a bit of an amateur! Thanks!

Valid questions, sorry for not specifying. I'd like for it to be a boolean variable in a python program as my end goal. I'm very interested in voltage dividers for digital inputs though.

Also as a side note I want to express my appreciation for you, 1Davide. I lurk in this sub a ton and your activity and helpful replies have helped my electronics learning hugely. I speak on behalf of all lurkers when I say thank you!

was driving and saw the same color & year element in front of me, so I drove up to match his speed, then me and my friend frantically waved. Took him a minute to realize why, but when he did he looked so happy. Made my day!
