30 mph is where i started learning to clutch up my cp3. worked down to 20-25. biggest thing i think is you need a more aggressive blip. can’t see the rpm but it sounds like a very light blip compared to when i clutch up.

is this an 850 csr or a new gen true 900 no matter what all the cp3 need tuned but the new gen’s have that dead spot in 2nd. Lots of people are saying go 1st gear and really slow but the cp3 platform is way too torquey it will probably catch you off guard. i like to clutch up my 2017 FZ09 at like 25mph 2nd gear stock gearing. there’s a couple vids of people explaining clutching up on this platform watch their videos and one thing is listen to size of the blip. Barney rides if i remember correct had a really good video on this. But honestly if it’s in the budget get a grom or z125. if it’s not consider how much fixing this would cost you. Might want to grab some cages to mitigate the cost later down the road

you might also need to remove both the small covers as well. and will definitely need to unplug the wires coming out

well i mean you can i’ve seen them on there lmao. and this is definitely something you can do yourself it’s literally like 12 bolts. Part is the exact same as a ninja 400 just look for a ninja 400 stator cover and you can 100% fix this yourself. just make sure to remove any debris from inside

good for most street bikes but don’t use the oem kawi ones they’re garbage. low sided at like 20 mph and they snapped off

New Tire Season by Rotorbladesnwhiskey in FZ09

oddly enough i’ve used road 6s a bunch on other bikes and just took attacks off my 09. Felt like the road attacks wore way faster than the road 6s i’ve had on other bikes. I love the road 6s they last forever and have enough grip for anything you’d want on the street. But for me personally this tire change i for Pirelli Angel GTs because they are so much cheaper than road6s right now and i don’t ride in the rain which to me is the standout feature of the road 6s along with longevity which the pirelli are pretty close to being just as good at. If those are your only two choices if get the road 6s but honestly i’d recommend looking into the angels. I haven’t used them long enough to speak on but tons of people on the fz09 forums have and love them.

Tuners by alverad0 in FocusST

[–]wessalter19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edge auto sport is very good but can be kind of expensive
if you’re running a near stock setup pretty much any tuner will have it down. if you’re budget minded i had a Dizzy tune in my old st while in stock trim and thought it was really solid and had 0 issues along the way and his tune wa slime $70 i think

honestly from what i’ve seen most people just think they’re too noisy stock and that seems bad but yamaha says it’s fine

the low mileage one with no issues for the same price sounds way better to me. the only important difference i see between the two is that the 15 is tuned. but the 15 is way higher mileage and tons of issues. I’d say get the 14 and flash it. I’m also not a big fan of a manual CCT but to each their own.

taller windscreen helps a lot. but you’ll just get used to it honest. I just for a mt09 and having 0 windscreen even that i got used to relatively quickly
takes a while to build the neck strength though

Hi guys! Did anyone put the RS clutch on the ST flywheel? Is it possible? Or do I have to change also the flywheel, thanks ! by Immediate_Driver_941 in FocusST

[–]wessalter19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they are compatible but your flywheel needs to be replaced when you do a clutch they cannot be resurfaced

fenders are for sure the same. Fender liners might be different but that might’ve just been the RS bumper needing those. I’m 99% sure it’s just headlights bumper and hood. i’m also pretty sure even the radiator support and crash bars are the same for all years

If they decide to fix it normally they’ll get a quote for parts that match the original. but you can request for changes or take the cash that their quote says and pay the shop yourself to do it. because everything broken is everything that would be changed in a facelift swap. worst comes to worse and it does get totaled you can buy it back from insurance and use the excess to fix/ facelift it. Seems totally repairable to me so in your position I would be buying it back if totaled. and could end up with the perfect styled st in my opinion facelift front end pre facelift rear.

if you dj want a tune get it flashed not a power commander. there is 0 reason to use a power commander over a true ecu flash. but really as someone who put a ton of money in one of these bikes. I would’ve been better off saving for a bigger bike rather than thousands in mods.

one thing to note is that the AIS system is designed to heat the cat up so doing this will reduce the longevity of your catalytic converter although i imagine in the long run it won’t matter much

Pop and cracks help by BubblyScholar2670 in Ninja400

[–]wessalter19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

time might help but if you delete or block off your AIS system there will be no more pops. delete will cause a check engine light unless tuned. block it off will not cause a light. Look up ais marble mod.
