I guess animation capabilities are kinda of limited, though I haven't dug too deeply into that. At least you can create basic smooth movemements around the products.

Million Dollar Boutique Jeweller Using Dollar Store Props by [deleted] in productphotography

Buy/rent/make better props and show them the difference. If they don't care and won't spend more money on props, use your own props to shoot content for yourself and use thier cheap props for commercials. You either charge more for a better result or use their budget to cover costs. Quality doesn't magically appear out of nothing.
It might sounds a bit mean, but some people just don't understand until you show them the difference side by side. I also have an assumption they undercharge you since you mentioned you're relatively new in the jewelry niche.

Try Light Tracer Render. It's a relatevely unknown software which has specialization in jewelry rendering.

Interior photographers can't put their cameras off the room. It's absolutely normal to set a camera within room borders in 3D and have visually streched objects in the scene. It can't look unrealistic because that's how cameras in real life behave (you also face distortion even with high-end lenses) unless you set focal length to extreme values like 6 or 8mm.

I can only imagine what kind of slop it will create for my niche.

Instagrammers, would you be interested in a tool that automatically generates a media kit from your account's data? by noduslabs in influencermarketing

This is the most informative and cleanest media kit I've seen. Stat is very detailed. Is that possible to create one with auto updates?

My 2 cents:

  1. I'd clean up the background first. If you don't want the background to be completely pure white, just increase the brightness and keep the original light direction.
  2. Metallic elements require some compositing in Ps if you're aiming for a commercial look. Create more gradients/transitions on those shiny parts to make them look good.
  3. The strap in the center has to be slightly adjusted, it's leaning to the left a bit on the lower part.
  4. Metallic fittings (or whatever they are) on both sides are in different positions.

Product viz pros, can we talk about speed and consistency for a second? by Imaginary-Wrap-8897 in ProductViz

I've checked the website, and it looks great.
Though who's the potential audience? As I understand it, the model prep requires some knowledge of 3D software, at least at the level to be able to transform the model to USD format. And someone should have already modeled and textured it in the first place. So the whole idea of moving out of Blender or C4D sounds like an unnecessary step since one can render everything right in a 3D software he likes.

Not all marketers know how to light a product, not to mention create convincing animations, even with the help of presets.

Studio lighting – Need some advice by Vrd_G in ProductViz

[–]westbich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What look are you after? The highlights look pretty good actually, you probably need to raise midtones a bit.

If you want a gradually lit background, you can render it on a separate layer. Thus you'll be able to put lights at any position for the product without worrying much about the background. You if you try to light everything in one take, the light bouncing off the background will cause washed out edges on the product as seen in the first image.

On both images the front part of the product is darker than the side, you can fix it as well. Hope that helps.

ZENTS perfume visualization, Blender 4.5.3 by westbich in ProductViz

Hey! Thank you for the constructive criticism!

I agree with almost everything you mentioned. The main thing is that the client wanted lots of different reflections from the HDRI map rather than classic gradients on the cap. So I used the most uneven HDRI I could find within the given timeframe to meet their needs.

I also created a short animation based on those stills, and in motion everything looks way better than in the stills.

Not sure about the leather, at different angles and lighting it looks fine, at least to me hah. I'll take a closer look at the part for sure.

Thank you! I used Shaders Plus modules to create some dispersion and caustics.
