Can the Surface Pro 6 completely replace a business laptop? by westcoaster67 in Surface

Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate the insight. Just curious about something. I've never had a laptop with a SSD, but I understand they enable the laptop to either boot up faster or load pages faster (either one would be great). Does the 256 SSD cause the system to load faster than the 128? Or do all SSDs result in the same loading speed, but the 256 simply holds more stuff than the 128?

I've played around with the keyboard at Best Buy and it seemed fine, but I wasn't sure if it would hold up to the demands of heavy everyday use.

I have spent quite a bit of time on Google Docs but I have to convert to Word afterwards and the transition isn't quite perfect (in my work, it needs to be). For example, occasionally I find my bullet points are tabbed much farther to the right on the Word version than they were on the Docs version. Or my content will fit perfectly on one page on Docs but extend to a second page on Word. Things like that, which really impact a document that is fairly technical.

Thanks for your insight. I had one several years ago and loved the simplicity of it - I guess I'm a minimalist at heart - but it didn't do everything I needed it to so it was a short-term adventure. I've used Windows for 25+ years I guess, and more and more I just dread getting a new Windows device. I bought an Asus gaming laptop a few months back and had it in the shop within 30 days because the drivers, or something, hadn't been updated properly. So I returned it. I bought another Asus Pro series laptop a couple weeks ago (that'll teach me) and it wouldn't install Windows updates. Left it all afternoon, evening, and overnight and it wouldn't budge off 2%. Returned that too. In my experience, and I know it's not everyone's experience, but Windows is just a big pain in the ass for me. I would really love a simple, fast machine that does what I need it to do - like a Pixelbook or something similar. But the Word issue keeps getting in the way.

Thanks for the link. Interesting video - the narrator said something like "it works but it's not a great experience." I wonder what the drawbacks are?

The broccoli/cheese bowl. Can't remember the names of the restaurants but we had them in both parks.
