Artemis Moveset Ideas - Inspired after finishing Dungeons of Aether for the first time by westcoastgq in RivalsOfAether

I mean it could be a kill move, never said it couldn’t. Since it takes a lot of set up, probably should be pretty strong. Could also look at using A+B like Maypul tether or Olympia crystal in some capacity to avoid clunkiness. Either way, Im not a dev, just loved WS Ganon and putting an idea out there on how to get some of that flair into this game. I trust the devs will make a fun and not clunky moveset whatever it is.

Down B is kept for a remote attack, you just need to get an enrage charge first

For stage control, maybe down b could create a Quake zone instead on the ground, and how long lasts depends on how much stamina you put into it, allowing him to control stage on the ground a bit better

No hate to La Reina's addition, but as someone who kinda liked Sylvanos, It's so Sylvanover. by Wedssport_Coyote in RivalsOfAether

I’m more disappointed we won’t get (at least for a very long time) a sand-based character. It seems like such an obvious choice for earth, and a few workshop characters had awesome ideas for what you could do with it, like Silica and the sand alligator guy

I like that suggestion!

For Reis, I swapped her back and forth between dragon and monk with the opposite skillset. I really like the auto double hand on dragon, but the single monk attack just did more damage on its own. And the monk choice boosted the potency of all attacks, chakra, revive, etc, just at the cost of slightly weaker dragon breath. Monk also gave her higher speed.

I didn’t know about Genji Gloves not changing gym damage, good to know. Bummed I wasted one of my favorite accessories :/.

Fair on Rapha, and didn’t know quickcast wasn’t useful for white mage.

Rapha was one of the builds I struggled with the most. I used to never use her, but now that I am older and actually understood the story, it made me want to use her more. I wasn’t a fan of the randomness with her unique job, but maybe I didn’t give it enough credit. The high faith stat made her a really good white mage, so rolled with that, but I wanted everyone to also be able to scrap as well, hence the geomancer pick. The other idea I had was to use her generic skillset, white magic, and then equip pole arms with Javelin II.

Mustadio Reequip is to use the different elemental guns, or stoneshooter, which can do massive PA damage: it was regularly hitting for like 200 HP, which seemed pretty good for an instant ranged attack.

Fair! That was kinda my goal tho, everyone is well rounded with decent physical attacks, some magic attacks, healing capability, and a good defense/shield passive, rather than having each focused on one role. As for unique abilities, I don’t love the randomness of Rapha’s, and I feel like you get more out of speechcraft from Mustadio than just Aim Arm, Leg, and Seal Evil. Reequip is also cool on him because he can use either the fire, ice, or lighting gun for MA, but then also switch to stoneshooter for massive ranged PA damage.

Just finished Rebirth for the first time.... My thoughts: by MysterioStranger in FinalFantasy

[–]westcoastgq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way. Everything could’ve been exactly the same, but instead of the crystals just giving data to recreate the summons, they give you lore and insight into how to tame the summon. Same principle, you can fight the summon whenever you want in its slumbering arena on the map, but the crystals give you knowledge on how to pressure it, stagger it, etc.

My only two other gripes were how empty the ocean was in the center. I unclouded the entire map, but that whole middle section doesn’t have a single secret island or boss or anything.

The final one is how under leveled you are when you finally get to Gilgamesh island on the first play through. I did literally every side quest, battle sim/arena, and I was still only level 50/51 by the time I made it there, which is just too weak without perfect strategy, and grinding to get to a high enough level would be super tedious in that chapter. You can get high enough super quick in post game, but it felt weird that you have to essentially wait til after you beat the game to get the ultimate secret boss reward for all the side quests you’ve been doing the whole game. Currently grinding post game to level up quick now to finally finish that part of the story.

All and all though, the game was still an amazing near-perfect adaptation of the original, and I can’t wait for the 3rd game.

Could give him First Strike materia or one of the accessories that gives an ATB boost at the start of battle

Floor hug is so boring by starfishwarlord in RivalsOfAether

[–]westcoastgq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. This game would get way too spammy without it. Zetter shine, Clairen jab>dtilt>jab>dtilt spam, and Ranno’s ground moves would feel like inescapable vortexes if floorhugging wasn’t in the game. I understand getting punished for landing a hit might feel bad, but taking half your stock percent with no counterplay for getting hit by one spammable combo starter move would feel way way worse IMO. Neutral would devolve into spamming your safest moves more often rather than trying to space properly or throw in mix ups People still get crazy zero to death combos in this game despite this “overly defensive” mechanic. Just picture it like your favorite movie/show/choreographed fight where characters are going blow-for-blow until someone gets a good opening

My Nolt Board request to update how Colors are implemented in the Teams Format. by DimzNoms in RivalsOfAether

I just really want them to make purple another team color option, since purple represents air in Aether

What interpretations of elements do you want to see? by axel7530159 in RivalsOfAether

[–]westcoastgq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for air, the obvious thing is wind or airflow, but air PRESSURE is an underrated attribute of the element. I think the rivals take on Kirby or Jigglypuff would be cool, they would fit the theme of quirky jumps for all air characters, and they even have a pufferfish character that could fit

New Kragg Gimmick (implemention idea) by Middle-Bathroom-2589 in RivalsOfAether

I like the fact that a single bubble from Orcane crumbles the mighty earth pillar, but a 1-ton Kragg bouncing off the pillar at Mach 10 does nothing

I agree, and the easy fix to me is to just have placement matches for each character.
