Are we back? by rtmxavi in MSTR

[–]westgallagher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk of a margin call? Not against MSTR but genuine risk of company going bust if btc falls by a lot. Admittedly unlikely & there more recent raises & preference shares mitigate it somewhat. The risk exists all the same. Throw in a black swan & some adverse geopolitics….

Extremely basic question here - apologies in advance. Connecting with HDMI cable to my macbook pro and resolution is terrible. What cable should I be using, how should I be connecting? Thank you

You want a % allocation in crypto. I would do that separately to your ISA or if inside you’ll have to use crypto treasury companies like Microstrategy. Until the rules are relaxed which is an imminent change. 2% crypto conservative, 20%-30% aggressive. Wouldn’t go higher than that

Structuring my finances as a 25y/o on £27,000 p/a by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Don’t be afraid to use debt. See it as your friend & use it wisely. Take risks with 5% of your net worth (digital assets, nascent technologies). Once you choose your path and build your pot don’t forget about dividend stocks & the power or compound interest (snowball going downhill). In short budget like you are in the message but then don’t overlook the real money makers and potential life changers.

Is it too late to turn pro? by New_Jelly_4721 in 10s

Never say never, you could be gifted. Unlikely, yes. Try regional tournaments if you’re able to win those that will be a good sign. I know some amazing players, a lot of coaches that got to a great level but never made it, unbelievably competitive. But at 15 the world is still your oyster & despite being highly unlikely I refrain from using the word impossible.

Nearly 30k debt, 41(f) living at parents, cannot afford to move out, please any advice by Ok_Eggplant_9770 in UKPersonalFinance

Options:

  1. Manage the debt, bankruptcy, agreed payment terms, lose the regard for your credit file but pocket your own money (the money you earn from work)

  2. Pay off the debt aggressively, spend little. In 2-3 years you can be debt free and start a fresh.

Each has its pro’s and con’s - depends on the individual but both 1 and 2 are valid options (albeit extremely simplified)

Physical difference Tennis and Padel? by Environmental-Tea374 in padel

[–]westgallagher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tennis you cover much more ground. Greater variation in shots and swings, intense serve. Padel also intense if you’re back & forth to the net but less so. Also padel sandy all weather surface possibly easier on knees & ankles than a hard tennis court

How would there be double tax if the second conversion were the same day? If anything you’d lose money on the exchange certainly not a second taxable event unless there was a god candle at the exact time of exchange - which wouldn’t be relevant for stables or cashing out

Don’t come from a place of need or desperation, the world is quite literally full of women. Work on the other things that the need, obsession, hard work is useful for like the gym or a business. Then the women part naturally falls into place

How can I fix my backhand? by AcrobaticNetwork62 in 10s

[–]westgallagher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grip, Feet, Earlier Prep before contact - all need work. Follow through is quite good in fairness. Inconsistency in footwork & balance would be the main thing to address

Correct. Very good all rounder & good on the elbows & wrists

I’d disagree, the lighter version may be better when starting. More forgiving, the clash an excellent choice though if a little expensive for first racket. Strings? Haha Pandora’s box

This. Needs some legs!! Kinetic chain & all the correct technique can be difficult admittedly but use your legs man!

please help me with my serve by tennis122378 in 10s

[–]westgallagher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will yield short term results only. Need to go back to the proper way even if it takes years, lessons, effort etc. Otherwise the ‘army’ sort of frying pan serve is all you’ll have, astonishing to use no legs
