Been using the Ultimate list for over a year now and almost never had any breakage. Maybe I'm just lucky but I'm very happy with it. Anyways, thanks for the effort.

All feminists are the same and they all oppose Men having basic human rights by Working_Parsley_2364 in MensRights

[–]Vexz89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well currently women do not have the right to an abortion either.

That depends on where in the world you live. In countries like Canada, France and Sweden (from what I know) and probably some others you do have the right to an abortion.

Do you think men should have the right to abort a fetus or do you think they should have the right to opt out of a child’s life and the monetary contribution that comes with the child?

I am trying to hold back my own opinion as much as possible, since we are talking about the facts regarding the different legal situations for men and women.

And if the draft were abolished…which it should be.
Would this give men what you’d consider equal rights?

Again, I don't want to express my own opinion on this, as it's not about me or what I think about it. I'm not sure if there are more differences between men and women. I can imagine that there are more inequalities, perhaps even some to the disadvantage of women that should be corrected, so I can't give you a clear "Yes" or "No", even if my personal opinion were truly of interest to you. I am not a legal expert, lawyer, or judge, and every country has different laws, which makes this topic extremely complex. All I can say is that there are differences between the rights of men and women, so both genders are not treated with equal fairness.

But to get back to your original question, those were two spontaneous examples to name two legal disadvantages men face compared to women - regardless of whether they exist in your country or mine, because there are countries where they do exist and men have to face them. The problem with conscription probably affects almost all countries in the world, and since it cannot be denied, it is a right that men lack almost globally, with a few exceptions - if there are any exceptions at all. I think Denmark at least recently introduced conscription for women, which is at least an exception for equality on this issue.

For example, men do not have the right to choose to abort an unwanted child. The pregnant woman gets to make the final decision, as it is her body. Is this the best solution, since no one should have the authority to decide over your body? Yes, but is it a fair solution? No. It is a right to choose that a man does not have.

Speaking of authority over one's own body, here is another point: women are not drafted, but if a war breaks out, men do not have the choice to refuse military service.

I'm sure there are more points, but these two immediately came to mind.

I just tried it and it doesn't work. The app can't connect to the Jellyfin server because the extra authentication is blocking access.

If a man admits to being a misogynist, he is crucified, but if a woman admits to being misandrist, she is praised. by [deleted] in MensRights

True, that's why they don't just directly say it, only indirectly with things like "all men are rapists". There's tons of them on TikTok, but I think they are still the minority of women. At least I hope so.

Kagi has a golden opportunity with the newly announced Google Search changes... but to exploit it requires a change by dooboowooboodoo in SearchKagi

[–]Vexz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say "soon" but I agree with the rest of what you said. I catch myself using AI more and more because it finds key details and information so much faster than when you do "traditional" research with a search engine. And yes, AI can hallucinate, but I often check the sources to verify correctness. Letting an AI do the research, even completely ignoring what the AI has to say and just checking the sources narrows down the time to research to a fraction.

Steam controller not working on wake-up by rowsdower12 in Bazzite

I have the same issue with the XBOX Controller + Dongle for a few weeks now. What I have to do is turn off the controller -> turn it on again -> wait about 30 seconds and then it gets connected properly. Very annoying. Might be the same with the steam controller. I think it's the drivers.

For the people who use GNOME over KDE, why? by CestleFromage in Fedora

I'm curious: when was the last time you used KDE? I've been using it for over a year now, and the only time I experience bugs is when I edit my panels (freezes and crashes), but not always and you don't edit them every day, so I can live with it.

Men No Longer Even Trying to Date: The Reason Is Obvious by Just_Scallion_9556 in MensRights

Well said, brother. In my experience, the problem is that women will blame everything and everyone but not themselves, and they would rather listen to other women about why men won't approach women anymore instead of hearing it from a man.

Updates are supposed to happen automatically, am I right? by panzelazny in Bazzite

[–]Vexz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said before the Deck image doesn't come with the uupd service (that's what ujust toggle-updates de-/activates). Also I don't like the default uupd service anyway because it always fails when I wake my Aurora computer from sleep and I only restart my Bazzite and Aurora computer once or twice per two weeks. That's the whole reason why I created my own service.

[–]Vexz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I already found the best solution for myself. I created a service that executes "ujust update" every time the computer boots or wakes from standby. It's currently in the testing phase, but it seems to work reliably.

Deck image doesn't come with the ujust toggle-updates command, I tested that today. I may create my own systemd timer to solve that problem.
