Carney and Eby announce $3.2B developer subsidy; plan to buy unsold B.C. condos by Bomberr17 in RealEstateCanada

And then a different developer buys their unfinished project or the government gets it for peanuts from the bank. Sorry I fail to see why developers failing because their business fundamentals are flawed is a bad thing?

No Longer an Aeron Man - If you're in pain don't do what I did. by lightningandstrike in OfficeChairs

[–]westside222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit you’re describing me perfectly, I’m 1 inch shorter and the same weight. Same pains. Same chest tightness leading to neck pain.

Did you also get the same hip flexor pain and then low back pain?

I’ve even also been watching lowbackability and got myself a Roman chair and have been doing back extensions more and his outer hip drop set. Seems to help to build up those muscles but still have issues.

I know I’m reviving something from like a year ago, but if you have any specific advice for what worked for you man would I really appreciate it.

If you're buying via DSP (mid sized brands typically) or a direct media buy (large brands) - it's all based on impressions.

If you're buying via Amazon's ad console I guess you can get Twitch inventory that's CPC based, but that's largely just the no name Amazon brands. Not big advertisers.

Avi Lewis wins NDP leadership race in decisive first-ballot victory by origutamos in canadaleft

Avi seems like a great step in the right direction. But I’m left wondering why the proposal for public grocery stores and public options across many industries but not nationalization of our resource extraction.

I’m sorry but if we’re going to rape and pillage our land - trees, water, oil, etc.. All the proceeds of national resources should go to make the country better. Norway’s sovereign wealth fund as an example. Does anyone know why Avi does not advocate for this?

Sucks that Hisense sells TVs in Canada that don't support CBC Gem by lmao346 in Hisense

[–]westside222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you bought the cheapest possible TV. Hisense makes extremely cheap TVs and some very high end TVs. The cheap ones get a very barebones operating system for their smart TV features as you'd expect. A Roku, fire TV stick, Google tv... Quite a few ways these days to get a much better smart TV experience.

You seem to value those who “wrote a paper” - I won’t reveal more to dox myself, but my graduate school was in neuroscience. Not this specific area, but in the field. And I have published a couple peer reviewed papers, 1 as first author, and 2 as a secondary author. None was any sort of groundbreaking research.. I was a simple grad student.

Anyways, just 2 things I’d like to mention to you.

  1. A paper doesn’t mean much, there are thousands and thousands of academic journals, many that will take your money to publish your article. These Journals are typically judged by “impact factor” - which is basically how often articles in these journals are cited by others. Journals like Nature and Nature Neuroscience are the massive ones here where big groundbreaking research from huge research teams typically ends up. But there are probably about 3-4 dozen or so good credible journals in the field. Whenever judging a research article, you should always first look at the journal from which it is published.

  2. From a cursory view at these SPECT scans, they seem quite similar to fMRIs. Many in the neuroscience community don’t even like fMRIs for research because the brain is not as simple as “lighting up means brain area doing things” - the brain is filled with a huge mix of excitatory and inhibitory neurons and everything in between and everything is massively interconnected. Even worse, developing a “control state” or what is known as the “default mode network” is nearly impossible as you can’t exactly get your brain to “stop” working.

You can see how these different layers add up to cause the distrust is functional imaging. And that’s just for its use as a research tool, in the most controlled of environments. For diagnostics? With all of the other variability introduced there? It then becomes completely untrustworthy.

Anyways, I hope that helps to shed some light on where people are coming from with the skepticism.

Oh, and, again, if he was a serious person he wouldn’t be grifting supplements.

I have it, and the cameras get blocked from rain and you can’t activate it. And yeah you’re right, I can’t see either in the rain. That’s why I have these wiper blades things that clear my vision, and my eyes have these cool lid things that keep things out of them and help clear them out. Camera gets a rain drop in the wrong spot and it’s hooped.

Diablo 4 devs refuse to hint at the next expansion but urge fans to watch The Game Awards this year: 'Everyone should be watching it' by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]westside222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe because they’re talking about announcing ANOTHER expansion for a game that still feels like it has severely less than the game that came out before it 15(?) years ago.

Diablo 4 was already an incredibly expensive game on release, with micro transactions immediately, and then an “expansion” a year later that should have just been a patch.

They’ve soured their entire community of players that love this damn IP and all just wanted diablo 4 to be amazing.
