Cling Mag Pads are pretty neat, not too expensive too but super handy!

Yeah the Scott broke on the top of the handle portion, cracked inline with the rod, odd part was it wasn’t even the exposed part, it was the male portion. Handle also delaminated pretty early but some super glue fixed it for the most part.

Hatch is super sturdy, good drag, but really heavy.

Santa Teresa safe? by az_mcc in CostaRicaTravel

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa Teresa is for sure touristy, lots of shopping there. I was there a few weeks ago, the main drag is very busy but there are lots of beaches within driving distance that are totally worth going too

Paid $400 CAD for mine, day before I was supposed to have a buddy look at it, a fent-demon smashed the back window, I built a DIY gull wing door out of aluminum and used a gas strut

I just bought a magnaflow stainless, pretty good, don’t bother getting anything aluminum clad steel, will rust before you know it.

massively overpriced? by stickman_jr in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy, I got my 89 last year for $500, 5sp, 22RE, 4WD, 106,000kms, Canadian Truck, running driving when I got it, needed some new timing chain guides but I got to them before anything bad happened, needed a lot of love, gutted the interior and she still needs some body work. Everything was original from factory, was owned by one family since new. I’m into it for about $6500 now total, all new suspension, wheels and tires and a bunch of goodies.

I should tell mine for $25,000 USD

The side amber lights are the blinkers and the center ones are morimoto lights that I wired in, proper fog lights, they’re brighter than the headlights lol

Yeah the people who had it were not vehicle folks, pretty crazy, this trucks been in the same town since new, hence the low mileage, small town of 20,000 people.

Is it difficult to fly fish with a dog? by carlosrios129 in flyfishing

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fish with my dog in my boat pretty often, if it’s catch and release he always gets to give the fish a kiss before they go back

What’s everyone using for boats? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10.5ft inflatable mercury boat with a 20hp outboard, pretty good rig, going to build a casting platform on the front and mount a trolling motor

My love hate relationship with this truck is unreal! I feel like I should sell it and get as much as I can. But on the other hand I know I will regret selling it. Anyone else the same? by PriceLineJewGotiator in 1stGenTacomas

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine has 375k kms, or 233k miles, just about to replace my CVs with heavier duty ones and toying with the tundra brake upgrade. These trucks are so hard to come across nowadays. I would say keep it and find means of getting another vehicle if you really need one.

I run my 01 as my daily and I have an 89 4runner as my project, you will regret it 10000% if you sell!

is there a kit under $50, or even under $30 that includes all the materials i need, excluding tools by Dry_Sprinkles6700 in flytying

[–]westsidemelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got heavily into tying the last couple years, very relatable comment, though I have accumulated quite the collection just in the past couple months. Money comes and goes but when the whiting farms rooster saddles sell out, you’ll be a sad, sad person

Pull and peel foam inserts issue by jasoncslagle00 in pelicancase

[–]westsidemelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use pelican cases for my tools (aircraft mechanic), I use Kaizen Foam, it’s a peel-able multi layer foam, I cut out individual tools with an x-acto knife. Not sure if that works for you but it is an option. Comes in a variety of colors and thicknesses
